In l995 we moved to Red Wing, Minnesota and bought Mennes Jewelry, now called Wanshura Jewelers, but long before that Gordy became a jeweler in 1976 after graduating from the Jewelry Manufacturing and Repair Program at the Minneapolis Community & Technical College in downtown Minneapolis.
In l980 Gordy started teaching the Jewelry, Manufacturing and Repair Program at MCTC and taught there for approximately 5 years before teaching Stone Setting at Paris Jr. College in Paris, Texas for the next three years.While in Texas Sheila went back to school and received her Gemology and Diamond certificates.

I am so impressed! My wife’s engagement ring broke and We were told by 3 of the fanciest jewlers in the twin cities that it could not be fixed and we were dumbfounded. A family member recommended Wanshura Jewlers and I am so glad I decided to make the trip to Red Wing. I recently dropped off my wedding ring to get a quick fix. I had accidently hit it on my ceiling fan and damaged the bezel holding the ruby. They fixed it up so nicely! It looks even better than it did before. They were very nice and service was timely. I am so happy to have my wedding ring back! Plus it's super polished and pretty again! Thank you!
