Services
Sumlar Therapy Services, Inc. began in 2001 as a pediatric physical therapist's plan to work a few hours a week from home. Kristin (Sumlar) McMillan, PT, began providing clinical therapy as well as hippotherapy-the therapeutic use of the rhythmic movement of a horse-in the front yard of her century-old home.
Your school system may have a contract for PT, OT, and/or Speech services with Sumlar Therapy. Please contact your Special Education Director or supervisor to confirm your school's referral process for PT (Physical Therapy), OT (Occupational Therapy), and/or Speech Therapy. Please ensure that ALL information requested is provided and LEGIBLE.

Sumlar Therapy is invested in supporting the education of future pediatric PTs, OTs, and Speech Theropists. Internships By partnering with universities around the country, Sumlar Therapy provides a challenging and unique setting for pediatric internships for Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Language Pathologists.

I love everything about Sumlar Therapy from the service providers, to the office personnel, to the owner! They are well known for being fantastic at what they do. And they are just that in every aspect! I'm nothing but pleased and I've had a long history with this company as an educator. Kudos Sumlar Therapy!!!!

I love these people. The entire staff is so friendly and professional. My grandson does PT and OT with them. He thinks his therapists are just the greatest. I think they are too. They have come up with innovative ways in treating his disabilities that no one else had thought of. They truly care about the children that they work with. You don't find that every day!!!!

I have noticed lots of improvement in my son since he started attending therapy at Sumlar Therapy Services. He has autism and goes to speech and occupational therapy here, so far all of his therapists are really sweet and friendly to him, which I love! They make you feel really welcome! My 3 years old son enjoys going to therapy here! Super close to post for those of you living at Fort Rucker. I highly recommend this place!

Great is the best word to describe my experience at Sumlar Therapy! The Great staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They know what my children need and how to accomplish these goals. They spend time after each visit to explain how the children are progressing and what I can do at home to improve their outcomes. The office staff are Great too, always friendly and helpful. I trust Sumlar Therapy to help my little ones and now consider them part of our family!

My daughter has been coming twice a week to Sumlar for over a year now. Everyone is so nice and helpful. She gets excited for all of her therapy times which has really helped her progress. From the wonderful ladies in the reception/front office to the hard working therapists, Sumlar is like a second family to all of its patients

Before my son started therapy here he was not willing to put any food in his mouth or say any words. He started a little over a year ago and I’m happy to say he can eat by mouth and say mama! It is well worth the 45 min drive every week! The staff is friendly and the therapists are the best (we’ve been through many!) they are very knowledgeable and are unbelievable with the children. They engage them and really get on each child’s level to make things work for them because they understand not every child is the same.
