Good customer service - answered calls and helped as needed. Friendly staff. We picked up and dropped off bikes. Price was competitive. They have child seats as well for bikes.
Bike quality was decent. But for our casual use on trails and beaches they did fine. No issues at all. Runs and brakes well. Seemed sturdy just don’t expect shiny new bikes.

Rusted seats that couldn't adjust, a child could get hurt and they didn't care at all! All other areas were rusted and the price was horrible.Yes, we paid and didn't ask for reimbursement, he and the girls didnt offer anything at all, he argued instead of listening and being helpful. They never explained to call with issues or any information that these bikes are horrible on the sand or even hard sand. They did turn correctly on pavement either. We wanted Pedals to fix the issue so kids didn't get hurt!!!!

I’ve never been treated so rude and disrespected. Additionally the bikes are dangerous and not maintained. My dad was visiting me from out of town and when we went to rent a bike the young women behind the desk was laughing (she was trying to hide it but I obviously saw as she looked at another young boy that was laughing too). Either because of his Chinese accent or by questions he was asking (seemed like the first). Either way it was extremely rude to treat us that way as customers. We felt very insulted and honestly it ruined our day. Furthermore once my dad got on the bike the handle bars

Dishonest & Horrible! Don't rent from them. They told me that we need to give a room number in order to deliver the bikes by 3PM. They closed early on Christmas Eve, they never contacted me regarding my bike delivery, no text or phone call, so we rented from someone else. They charged me. I tried to work out with the Manager Jim, he was rude! Will never do business with them. Service is below 0 star.

Employees were sitting on the floor and didnt seem very dynamic or interested in serving us.. weve been clients for 30 years + and always had a better rate because we rent several bikes (8) for a month several times a year. Was not the case this year ... high prices and service was not very friendly .. Too bad. Since Chuck sold the business PEDALS is not the same as it was. We will not be returning.

So SAD!!! I paid $75 and rented an electric bike (for 24 hours) that broke down after 20 min. The chain would not engage the hub. They brought me another bike, the employee said this bike had broken down before.
The replacement one ran for an hour, then would not charge. I tried charging all night. I brought the bike back the next day. The owner was called and would only credit $25 of the $75. 3 employees and 2 customers and myself all thought this was unacceptable customer service.
I got 1 hour for $50. So sad!

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY! We have been renting from Pedals for at least 20 years. Pedals has went up in pricing and down in quality. We had to return 2 of our bikes the first day due to technical problems and the next day we had to have another exchanged out due to the chain was about to fall off and was all rusty. We rented 5 bikes and all of them were old and created nothing but problems when riding them. After all of these years being loyal to them, I will not rent from them ever again and will recommend that you don’t either. It’s nothing but a headache and when you’re on vacation that

It was easy to reserve bikes and it was great to have the bikes waiting for us when we arrived at our condo. Since they were more expensive than the place we usually ordered from, I expected nicer bikes. These were pretty beat up, especially the child seat . Since we were there during a busy week, maybe we got "second string" bikes?

We use Pedals every year on our trips to Hilton Head. Always a great experience. This year, I forgot to order an extra bike and kiddie cart. I called that day on the drive and they caught the truck about to deliver our bikes and added the extra to the delivery! So kind and helpful. Always the easiest part of our trip. Thank you guys!

It’s tough to find hybrid geared bikes in HHI right now and Pedals was the only one that could help us. Rented two of them for a week which were waiting at our villa when we arrived. Had some mechanical issues and they not only responded quickly but replaced both bikes with practically new Jamis Citizen 2s the same day. Great bikes. Great service. Reasonable rates.

Disappointing experience with pedals and it's not our first.
We popped in looking to purchase a part that we had forgotten. Pedals had iron stock as retail but refused to sell it unless we also rented from them.
This is unlike other businesses on HHI which are so kind to visitors (we are multi-generational HHI visitors and come here a few times a year).
This also strikes me as a poor business model. Had Pedals shown us kindness perhaps we would have thought 'hey, what a nice company- let's not go through the hassle of bringing our nice bikes and just rent cruisers when we are

I have rented from Pedals for 4 years while visiting Hilton Head. They are a great business run by thoughtful people. They do what they say they will do, deliveries of bikes on time and in perfect working order. Last year 2020, i departed Hilton Head 6 weeks earlier than planned due to covid and Nick (owner) wrote up a receipt with a credit for me to use when i returned. I am here this year (2021) and he honored the credit - had my receipt handily and was quite cheerful to welcome me back. Don't bother asking this bike shop for anything not extremely routine. They refused to rent us "tag-a-longs" also branded as "trail-a-bikes", even though they had plenty of them. They said they would only do so if we rented their cruisers to go with them -- period. We opted for another shop who met our needs. Pedals also refused to rent us a Weehoo smaller kid tag-a-long with seat back and seat belt ... even though they had three in their inventory (which we re-confirmed). Rented two bike with child seats for the week. Both bikes were very old. Both child seats were damaged.
On the third day one chain came off one of the bikes and was damaged. I had to walk 2-miles home with my 3-year old. When I called the store to let them know the person I spoke to was unapologetic and said they would only deliver a new bike if the broken bike was picked up.

Unnecessarily rude and obnoxious service. And yeah at a bike shop. How simple is it to be nice. We rented some bikes for one day rental and then went back later in the week to rent again and asked politely to pay the difference up to the weekly rate since we were a repeat customer. They said no and either pretended to go in the back to ask the owner or did ask the owner, and the answer was no. We took our business elsewhere for a second rental. Other places have better customer service, lower prices, and the same equipment. But the bikes we rented here were fine and had no problems.
