Services
The mission of Genesis is to improve the health of the community one person at a time through Behavioral Health Services that are individual and family focused. Genesis Centers offer therapeutic counseling for recovery from addictions and for mental health concerns. Fulfillment occurs through a process of making positive changes in a caring environment, with the support of qualified, highly motivated and empathetic counselors.
Established in 1979 by its founder Gabriel L. Guerrieri, Genesis Counseling Center, a nonprofit organization, has earned a reputation in Southern New Jersey as one of the finest Mental Health and Addictions Treatment Centers in the area. The "genesis" of Genesis was Gabe's conviction to provide high quality and innovative mental health and addictions counseling to people in a caring way, and within their financial means.
Barry is a graduate of Madison University with a Masters in Chemical Dependency Counseling. Barry has worked in the Behavioral Health industry for over 35 years and specializes in Adolescent and Family Issues, as well as Juvenile Justice System involved youth. Barry joined Genesis in 1987 and has worked as a Student Assistance Counselor, and he has provided direct service, as well as coordinated all Adolescent Substance Abuse Programs.
Cost per session is based upon a sliding fee scale. The scale starts at $50 per session and increases depending upon household income. Most insurance plans will reimburse a significant portion of the cost either through in network or out of network benefits. Reimbursement ratios differ depending upon your plan.

Q What do Services Cost? A For mental health the intake is $75, for substance abuse it is $75 plus $25 for a drug test. For individual counseling services, a sliding fee scale is offered based on income.
