The Akron Police Department Credit Union is a non-profit financial cooperative chartered by the Ohio Department of Commerce. Our credit union is not a bank, savings & loan or a house of finance; it is a special group of people who have joined together to manage their own money by saving together and lending to each other.
Due to the expansion of our service facilities and loan products, our credit union is now able to invite our neighboring law enforcement agencies to join us in this common bond. It shall remain our intent to continue a tradition of more than 70 years of providing financial services to our select group of members and their families.

Services
Any officer or civilian employee of a police department, law enforcement agency or judicial entity within Summit County, Ohio is eligible for membership. Law enforcement associations which share a common bond through occupation or association are also welcome to join. After a person is approved for membership, his/her family members, including spouse, children, parents, brothers, sisters and grandparents may apply for membership.
It is the policy of Akron Police Department Credit Union to make funds from member's deposits available on the same business day the credit union receives the deposit. A member can withdraw the funds in cash and we will use the funds to pay checks the member has written. For determining availability of deposits, every day is a business day except Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays.
