While I've always been fascinated with the human face, the possibility of what we can do with what we've got is infinitely more interesting and empowering for me. Before I became a hair and makeup artist, I drew portraits. One day, I ran out of the peachy colored pencil used to render the cheeks. A blush compact nearby became my instinctive substitute of choice.
As I buffed the fine powder into the paper one layer at a time, the result was so pleasant that I decided to try it on real people! And the rest is history. While both art forms, makeup along with hair can change lives in a way portraitures never can. Unlike with paintings resigned to a museum wall, my clients step into the world every day, and use their talent, beauty and grace to make things happen!

A: My goal is for future sons and daughters of any client to be flipping through their parents' wedding album 40 years from now, and with each picture of my client, think to themselves - "Mom looked stunning!" Under my care, you can expect to look natural and fresh but not defined by the time. I consider Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly to be timeless beauties.
Connie was my calm. Of all our wedding vendors, she was one of my favorites and certainly the one I spent the most time with and who relaxed me the most. First, I realize she is on the more expensive end, but you get what you pay for and those pictures are all we have left after the big day, so I'd say it is well worth the investment.

Connie is super attentive and really truly takes the time not only to execute your vision for hair and makeup, but also to get to know you. She's incredibly professional and personable and I'm so sad I won't get to use her services due to the Covid-19 pandemic cancelling our wedding. I actually had another trial with another artist before I found Connie, and the difference in quality was huge! I have never been comfortable wearing makeup and feel like it always makes my skin look worse or highlights the worst things about my face, but the look she gave me was truly the best version

I was blown away by her attention to detail and truly appreciated the time she spent getting to know me and my individual features. Connie of Face + Crown did my makeup for my wedding and it looked incredible. Honestly, I have never looked that good in my life and I probably never will again without Connie's assistance. It was a huge relief to find someone who was adept at working with South Asians and intuitively knew what colors and products would work for me. Amazing vendor. Connie worked with the images I sent her to customize the look I liked to my own face and skin/hair type. She even came to my house to tryout the look. On the day of, she did the hair and makeup for my two bridesmaids, myself, my mom, and my mother-in-law. Everyone got to choose their own hair and makeup style and got the same customized treatment. She even stayed throughout the event to help the photographer adjust my dress for pictures and to keep my makeup and hair pristine. The look lasted long past the event and I felt like a proper princess (and looked like one!) on my wedding

I choose Face and Crown for my wedding to do my hair, my two bridesmaid's hair, my mom's hair, and my mother-in-laws hair. I couldn't have picked a better, more understanding vendor. First, Connie started by asking me to send her photos of the makeup and hair style that I wanted and giving me the contact of the other clients so she could work with them and understand their unique needs. We have our wedding in early June, 2017 and have hired Connie as my HMUA. She did the hair and makeup for me, three bridesmaids, and two mothers, with some help of her assistant.
Because we have a day time wedding, she arrived super early in the morning. Some artists are talented on what they do... others go well beyond. This is the case with Face + Crow, let me call her by Connie. This amazing hair and makeup artist can make anyone's life look easy, starting from her clients and ending on the photographers/videographers. I had the opportunity to work with Connie in a wedding in Frederick, MD and she not only did an AMAZING job for our client, but she also made sure the photoshoot went very well and smooth. Connie did the hair and makeup for my fiance, three bridesmaids, and two mothers. She was absolutely professional and amazing! Connie gave us skin and hair preparation tips. Connie was sensational and impressively prepared. She worked with all our hair (2 moms, 3 sisters, and bride) with ease. The Moms had permed hair, 3 sisters have stick straight asian hair, and she added extensions for my hair! She was a phenomenal support during the get ready time and not only had an emergency bag with scissors and slippers, she had bandaids and helped my mom cover her ankle so the strap wouldn't dig in! In this town, more often then not you get what you pay for. I was worried about the cost of Connie's services, but i felt the money would be well spent for piece of the mind that the end result would be amazing. I wanted to look like the best version of myself on my wedding day, not a glamazon with make-up caked on. Connie achieved my desired look and so much more with limited guidance from me. Connie is absolutely amazing. She was hired for my cousins wedding to do hair for the entire bridal party plus the moms. Everyone had different types of hair, lengths and textures but it didn't seem to phase Connie. Everyone loved their hair and everyone at the wedding had many compliments for the bride, bridal party and moms.

I had never had a make over before as I thought that I did my own make up quite well. But I was heading back to work after being on maternity leave and thought it would be a good time to try a new look. I booked a private session with Connie Tsang. The make up studio is in her house. It is very clean and well lit. I brought the make up that I normally use. Connie reviewed my make up and educated me on what colors look best on my face given my skin tone. I attended her make up and finding your good color class. I have to say that it helped me and many of my friends a lot.
I never realized that my color is warm. In the past, before the class, whenever I went shopping, I just picked random color and style. After the class, I feel that I shop more effectively and efficiently too because I know which color and style will look good on me.
As to her style of applying make up. I like her style because she does not apply a ton of color that you and your friends will no longer recognize you :)
I highly recommend her because she LISTENS to what you want

A bad experience for bridal make up and hair trial.
She is very inefficient. I guess that's why she charges by hour.
The whole trial took 5.5 hours. Although she offered me 2 hours free, the cost for 3.5 hour trial was still much over any others' in this area .
The make up was fine, but the updo is really a mess.
I have to say she is not professional, and her work didn't match her price at all, at least in the hair.

I was looking for an Make Up artist fror my wedding day and found Connie on the www. I arrived at her place for a trial. She was super sweet and knowledgable about make up. My makeup looked flawless. I couldn't even tell that it was myself after the trial. I usually sweat at my nose and T-Zone. She put a product on my nose that did not make me sweat in that area. Even 7 hours later, my make up still looked great! She uses professional make and HD makeup. Products that you can't find at Sephora or the drug store. I highly recommend her.
