Dr. Jatin Shah has been practicing for over 25 years. He graduated from the Government Dental College & Hospital, Bombay in 1982. Dr. Shah took the California Dental Board exam and has been practicing in Los Angeles, California since 2003. In 2007, Dr. Shah decided to open the office here in La Habra, CA where he lives with his family.
The intraoral camera is an amazing diagnostic tool for viewing different angles in the mouth that we would not have been able to just a few years ago. The camera gives us the ability to view the entire mouth on a monitor so that we can get a closer look at any potential issues or problems that may arise.

Dr. Akashar did such an amazing job on my dad. My dad is older and really suffers from anxiety but Dr. Akshar was soooo patient with my dad. He was more than fair with cash prices since my dad has no insurance. Dr. Akshar has such a gentle hand and removed my dad’s tooth and my dad has not one complaint of pain! I am so grateful to have found Dentist Dr. Akshar! He asked to see my dad the next day as follow up to make sure all is well and everything turned out perfect! Amazing dentist who goes above and beyond. I cannot recommend Dr. Shah enough! You can count on him not to fabricate cavities or issues, and he will be very honest with you. I have no nervousness coming here and have complete trust that I will be taken care of. I have been coming here for years and I would tell you not to hesitate. I went to a few dentists in La Habra and all of them tried to make me feel bad and tried to talk me into getting different things done. I just didn't trust dentists anymore. My father in law recommended akshar dentist. After the first visit I felt that the dentist was very personal and real. He told me what work I needed to do and was very affordable. Not pushy at all. I can say I have found my dentist. If you need a real opinion at an affordable price this is the place to be.

My husband came in because he was having pain and the dentist took really great care of him. He gave us options on what we wanted to do to fix his tooth and the prices are reasonable(we paid out of pocket). We will be coming back to get our work done here. The dentist and his wife are both great and caring people.

I've had a great experience with Akshar Dental. A few years ago my husband was searching for dentist that would work with our HMO and not charge an arm and a leg. Dr. Shah was professional and did not bleed us dry financially to get an emergency repair done for my husband. He brought him in quickly and did a great job. It's a warm family ran business and everyone is very friendly. We have continued to come here years later and we are not only thankful that Akshar Dental does a great job, we are thankful that we can keep up our dental care at an affordable price. Dr. Shah is a great dentist. However, I had a very disheartening experience because of the dental assistants not doing their job. I've issues with the same tooth for over 5 months now. I visited in August because I had a cracked filling that need to be worked on. Dr. Shah let me know I would need a root canal for the tooth to save it. My xrays would need to be sent to my dental insurance for approval of the procedure and it would take up to a month to get the approval. He said I would be contacted and we would set up a appt for the root canal to be done. 3 months go by, and I began feeling

I'm deathly afraid of dentist office. The Dr makes me feel so comfortable and at ease. I always want to do the gas, but he always talks me out of it and I'm so thankful. I never feel anything when I've had a tooth pulled. He is very informative and inspirational. If I could convince everyone to switch and go to him, I would! 100% RECOMMEND

I recently had the worst cleaning experience ever at this practice. Dr. Shah decided to do my cleaning even though he had 3 techs that were just sitting around since I was the only patient there. You would think a dentist would be a pro at doing a simple cleaning but he did it in less than 2 minutes...I could still feel plaque buildup when he was done. And he didn't even bother flossing my back teeth. Usually the techs take 15 minutes doing the cleaning but this dentist decided to rush it for no reason and do a poor job. Not coming back here that's for sure.

How many times do you hear someone say that they enjoy their visit to the dentist? This team here is the best! Nicest reception every time. Feels good to see them remember and greet you by name as you walk in. I've had several procedures besides the routine cleaning and Dr Akshar always makes you feel calm and before you know it, you're done! Definitely come see them!

Dr. Shah is a great and honest dentist. He used to be my childhood dentist for myself and my family members. Before coming to Dr. Shah, a dentist told me I had two cavities. I didn't believe that I did, so I got another x-ray by a secondary source (Dr. Shah) who told me I had no cavities at all. There are some dentists who unfortunately try to scam patients and insurance companies.. not Dr. Shah. After that incident, I began seeing Dr. Shah regularly until I left California.
He isn't motivated by money, which is a rare find. He also squeezed me into his schedule the Saturday after Thanksgiving

I have seen Dr. Akshar previously for dental cleanings and exams which have all been pleasant. Recently I went in for 4 extractions requested by my orthodontist. Dr. Akshar and his staff were very comforting. I went through the whole process with ease which was extremely surprising since my pain tolerance is extremely low.

I'm rating my experience from when I used to see him for my dentist. I used to see Dr. Ashkar when I was 18 and he was terrific! He explained detail on how to take care of our teeth. I had health insurance and even switched my care to him because I believe he was good. I called him to schedule appointment to get my wisdom tooth pulled out and once I was finished being seen by him, he told me it was $50 to charge to see me when my dental was $0.00 copay. This type of action led me to believe he doesn't care about the retention of patients. He acted disappointed
