The room appeared to be clean, however after inspection, we found all the lamps had dust on them. The rim under the toilet was icky. The Jacuzzi was only for one person. The channels listed in the book do not match the tv channels. Also some of the restaurants listed in the book are permanently closed. Other than those things, the bed was nice and the staff seemed nice too.

Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, clean rooms. We were looking for a room with a jacuzzi and were pleasantly surprised with how big the tub was. We didn’t have a beachfront view, but we’re okay with it. We were able to walk down to that beach to take in the view and we were not disappointed. The only complaint on our stay was that the doors were in tight areas, but it’s a small price to pay for such an excellent place. This will be our go to place next time we head up north.

We loved this place, the 1st floor walkout to the beach was great. Had a fire pit at night. The only down side was there were bugs, a spider and a Centipede in the room. I am sure it is from the sliding glass door being so close to the lake. Other people probably leave it open a lot. Also they have no breakfast during Covid. But that is understandable. But no discount for that or the creepy crawlies.... Lady manager at front desk was a doll however, staff very friendly. Even the guy working outside was nice.

We love this hotel it's one of our favorites especially the rooms facing the lake! The staff here are so generous and make you feel at home. This hotel is really nice for snowmobiling, ice fishing and in the summer you can swim, boat or just sit and people watch The beds are real comfortable also and they offer a Continental breakfast too.

I personally liked this hotel a lot. It's clean and I thought the beds were really comfortable. I felt like the hotel was well loved by its owners. It has beautiful views as well. I thought the staff was really friendly. You have to remember it's on a lake with balconies so there may be a spider that gets in your if you open the door. This doesn't bother me at all...it can happen but I thought it was clean. They do have a noise policy and I felt the people there were respectful. The manager will take care of it if you ask. The only thing I'd ask is that they think about

Hotel is not being kept up to standards. Mattresses and sheets are old. Bugs are covering the balcony, so if you are O positive you will be a mosquito happy meal. If you look on the ceiling and walls, you will find killed bugs all over.
The lake is covered by homes and hotels left and right so the view is not the greatest.
Positive side is their coffee is great, I was surprised to enjoy a great cup of coffee in the morning.
I didn't get a chance to try out local restaurants, I seen on YELP there was 2-3 that might have been worth the trip.

Came here in February for a ski getaway and stayed a couple of nights. Great value with an awesome view of the lake and the king jacuzzi suite was fantastic. The continental breakfast bar had waffles, cereal, pastries and bagels, as well as fruit, eggs and yogurt. Staff was great! The pool and spa were really relaxing after a day of skiing.

If you're looking for a lakeside hotel this is your place. It's not top of the line but it was clean and quiet. The staff were friendly, breakfast was the typical 6-10am free fare. Beds were comfortable and sheets soft, bedside tables with adequate lighting and plugs available; refrigerator and room coffee maker.
Our room was on the lake side with a sliding door and well-kept porch with furniture. The shower was small, adequate linens, low-line amenities for soap, etc.

Hoping to prevent someone else having the same experience - I can't recommend staying here.
We drove into town and stayed here on a Friday evening for a funeral the next morning. We booked our room online which was surprisingly easy. However, we were unpleasantly surprised when we arrived to our room to find a loud party of adults, drunk, carrying on right outside our room (we had a beachfront walkout).
They had also propped open the hallway door on our floor which not only was unsafe, but let a ton of mosquitoes in, as well as the smell from the dumpsters outside. My husband let someone

I am a generally positive person but I would not advise anyone to stay here for any length of time. In the course of a week my trash was taken out once and only after I brought it to the attention of the front desk. No one exchanged my towels nor tended to the bed despite the "Maid Service Please" sign I put on the door one day. I was gone from 7 am until 6 pm so there is no reason my room wasn't cleaned other than hotel incompetence or poor management. Later that evening I had to kill a huge spider crawling on my sheets. Ugh!!
Also, the walls and floors must be really thin. I could

The hotel is clean but needed a few repairs. The showers are incredibly small walk-ins when you get a room with a jetted tub. The majority of the staff was incredible. However, one person on day shift at the front desk had a very poor disposition and seemed bothered by questions. The pool area was clean and well kept up. The pool temperature (it's a heated pool) was freezing the first day of our visit. This was remedied by day two. The location has minimal attractions nearby - great area for fishing and several golf courses in the area.
Overall we were satisfied with our stay as a quiet

If you are used to (or looking for) hotel chains like a Holiday Inn, Hilton, Sheraton, etc in this area.. well, you are SOL.
Luckily this hotel is a great option which will leave you pleasantly surprised. Fancy it is not, clean and staffed with friendly people it is!
Another plus is that the hotel sits right on Houghton Lake, and many rooms look out on this beautiful water and include a private balcony.
A quick and simple cold continental breakfast is included in your stay and the beds are quite comfy. The hotel has its own private beach and has a pool and a modest gaming room for the kids

Nice hotel with a nice view. Good breakfast and good front desk staff. Basically some staff were friendly and some average. Breakfast hours work well and the food is good for a daily hotel breakfast. The waffles were my favorite and I was able to grab an apple and a banana everyday, but they weren't always in the best shape. Overall we were happy.

Free breakfast had a great variety of items.
Hotel was warm and cozy. Decor had that 'lodge' feel. Staff was friendly.
Rooms were clean but the bed was way too bouncy and the pillows were aged.
Jacuzzi room tub was so relaxing.
Beach was smaller than expected and was sad that their were no chairs outside for guests.
Hotel is close to everything.
Pool was rather small for a hotel. Hot tub was pretty close to standard size.
