Fibre Federal Credit Union was founded in 1937. Sixty-three employees of Longview Fibre Company deposited a combined $315 for the purpose of making affordable loans available to Credit Union members. Over the decades we have grown to become one of the Lower Columbia Region's largest credit unions.

Today we serve anyone who lives, works, worships, goes to school or regularly conducts business in seven counties which include Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, and Pacific counties in Washington and Columbia, Clatsop, Tillamook, and Lincoln counties in Oregon.

As your community credit union, we care how we impact our service areas. We are a member-owned, not-for-profit organization with a cooperative nature. Unlike banks, who give their profits to stockholders, we give back to our members in the form of better rates and lower fees. Our cooperative spirit allows us to team up with other credit unions and offer events like Free Shred Day or Financial Reality Fairs.

Well I have to say I would give these folks 10 stars if I could after all the amazing years I have been with them. Everyone is always cheerful and positive no matter what department I have delt with or branch I have used. I got nailed twice by online fraud of two different types after someone stole my credit card information and made fraudulent charges. These kind folks were quick to fix the issue, notify me, lock my account, and print out a new card the same day I filled out the report. Thanks guys for keeping me rolling smoothly along. The good is, their interests rates are the same across the board no matter what your credit and they will let you differ a monthly payment if you are having trouble paying once a year. Most of the staff is pretty friendly. The bad... If you want to talk to somebody by phone you will be placed on hold for a loooooooooong time. They are really riding the covid train excuse. If you would like to make a payment on your loan by phone with your debit card from a different bank, not going to happen, you'll need to physically go into the bank or mail them a check or use bill pay that your bank offers.

I have never been treated so rudely in my life then at the Kalama Fibre Federal CU branch! I wouldn't bank there if it was the last bank in the world!

This institution continues to go downhill. Every time I go, the wait is longer, the service is worse.
Not sure what’s going on here. But last 2 visits have been the worst ever!

Had my card locked down because they felt a purchase was faulty, which it wasn't... Then they make you wait for a new card in the mail or drive in to verify and pick up a new card... Then harass you when you want to close your own account.

The service in-person in the lobby is prompt, excellent, and 5 stars.
The service by telephone is 2 stars or worse because the best case is I'm on hold a long time before being helped. Worst case I'm on hold until I give up and hang up (which has happened several times).
FYI - Red Canoe has FAST, excellent telephone service at all times, including during COVID. Why is Fibre's telephone service usually slow, and somtimes very SLOW?
Lately I've given up on calling Fibre CU and go in-person to the Commerce location. Luckily, the in-person service is fast and excellent. However, these are COVID

I've had many banks over my military Carreer and I started with a Credit union. Fiber Federal is one of the Best. Small Town Credit union, Great rates and Family Orientated.
They care about the community, not like the big banks. Also if you don't know , credit unions are members owned, they don't bow down to stock holders and Wall Street, so theres is no push to pay share holders.
If you've never belonged to a credit union it might be worth looking into. I got a credit card and home loan from them for very little interest rate, 5 and 3.9 %, what major bank is going to give you that?
