Great customer service, friendly and honest. I needed some help with bumper mounts for a tow bar set up and they made short work of it. They took the time to look at and understand my problem and then found a solution that was easier than expected. Would definitely recommend Jiffy Machine and will use them again in the future.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP.
THE BAD REVIEWS ARE ACCURATE.
Dropped off a stainless steel pump head for welding and machining.
Butch said he'd complete it in 3 to 4 weeks. Probably 3, but definitely in 4.
I left it with him on April 22nd 2021, and stopped by today May 25th, 2021, and it's still sitting on the front counter where I left it.
Just like the other bad reviews.
Still sitting on the counter.
I asked him when it would be finished, he casually said "maybe in a couple weeks".
I asked him regarding his promise of 4 weeks, he just smiled and said to take it somewhere else.

Had to modify a fixed sway bar to a quick release. No parts existed as bolt on replacements for Toyota Tacoma. I needed some rod end bolts turned down to a smaller diameter. I did not have the capability at home. Most machine shops wouldn't give me the time of day. Job too small. I really appreciate what Jiffy Machine did. They work perfectly! Exactly what i wanted. Thank you!

So where do you start?
This is one of San Diego's oldest standing machine shops and has been able to turn out some of the best finished products that I have ever seen. Check their website if you do not believe me. They truly do things in an 'old school' fashion and only are concerned with making your project 100% to your expectation.
Now yes, this is a fast paced shop that is always doing large aerospace level jobs so if you're in a hurry for your small project, it may take a couple weeks to get to it. But here is the thing, unlike most large machine shops with the right tools

THEY DID FOR ME WHAT OTHERS WISHED THEY COULD ! After taking my parts to another machine shop and getting put on the back burner until my deadline for the project was up,
I picked the parts up and went to JIFFY they were ATTENTIVE and KNOWLEDGEABLE , they came up with a solution, that worked and help me meet my CRITICAL DEADLINE , the charged me a FAIR PRICE for SUPERIOR SERVICE, THANKS AGAIN

Jiffy is a long-established family business that seems to take on anything large or small. They were recommended by another nearby machine shop who couldn't do what I needed. I am very pleased with my small stainless boat exhaust repair that involved milling and welding. Butch was very helpful suggesting what to do and Janice could not have been friendlier. Price was fair. Pay no attention to the previous negative ad. if you need specialty, odd or one-off work, this is a great place.
The previous reviewer obviously did not follow up - who leaves parts at a shop for three months without checking

Bad News & BEWARE !. . . . . Brought in some simple to modify & weld pallet racking cross-beams (6 of them) on 02-08-13 to get resized. They took the beams & received my contact info and told me it would take awhile because they were busy.
94 days go by, I'm not in a hurry either, so I called on 05-13-13 & they said, Oh yeah, your the guy, Let me get your phone number again & I'll have them ready by the end of the week (I called on a Tuesday, so Friday the 17th of May, they were supposed to be ready. With my number, no calls, no nothing - whatsoever . . So, today

These guys are pretty scummy, to say the least. Needed a fairly unspecialized job done recently, basically a new bolt pattern drilled into some brake rotors. They wanted $80 PER! That, of course, happens to be 4 times the cost of the actual rotors.
Ended up calling a place in San Diego that did the same job for $40.
If these guys are offering a premium service, I could possibly see the price discrepancy, but if I'm not getting some champagne and hors d'ouevres with my machining, it looks a lot like a ripoff to me.
