We made an online reservation, but when we arrived at 9 p.m., the office was closed. A gentelmen in the parking lot called someone, but we were told that nobody could do anything about it. We had driven several hours in the rain through delayed traffice, and then were faced with this. More driving to find another motel in the area. This does not bode well for this motel that looked like a nice place for travelers to stay while on the road.

This motel is an overflow place that is only kind of busy when all of the other motels in the area are sold out.

Looks like I should of read the reviews before booking. Was running late so called to make sure it would be fine, no one answered. Showed up at 10pm, office was locked and no one answered after knocking and ringing the bell several times. So I tried calling no one picked up. After about 30 mins, decided to leave, couldn't get a hold of anyone.

Where to begin. The balcony felt like it was going to give way at any moment. The outside was dingy. The inside made the skin on my back crawl. The interior was dated and unkempt. The floors were warped. The rugs were frayed and the curtains resembled sheets. Various surfaces including the wall outlet and the ice container were dirty. The bathroom was gross with obvious rust stains in the corner of the tub and hot water took ages to get hot. All this for $100! No thank you! Go elsewhere when staying in Angola. The only good thing is that it's less than 5 minutes from the campus

They've fixed it up a lot. My only complaint was the showers didn't get hot at all. Lukewarm at best. But no sign of bugs, quiet, clean. It could be hard to get into the laundry since it's always busy, but they remove laundry if people just leave it sitting forever so other people get a chance. Staff was all very nice.

We refused to stay there after walking in and inspecting the bed. The pillows were flat so I looked in the pillow case and was shocked to see dried drops of blood, drool, and other dried on substances of unknown origin. They were grey/brown from years of use. Then I looked at the sheets which did appear washed but had a few bug segments on them so I lifted the sheet revealing the mattress protector. It was so frayed it looked shredded and was grey nasty with age and had bug parts and debris stuck in it. We walked out and asked for a refund which was given without comment or delay. I wouldn’t

Due to winter weather, we were forced to seek shelter. This motel meets the low end of shelter. The sway-back mattress was supplemented with a piece of 4” foam rubber. Felt like you’re sleeping in a marshmallow - dipping in at the middle and fighting to prevent falling into each other. Carpet smells bad, wall had plaster damage, deadbolt was anchored in the wood frame, fridge had 2” of frost build up. Furniture is old stained and outdated. Bathroom floor is soft, shower faucet spout sets and inch from the tub enclosure. Really have nothing nice to say. And the price is a rip-off!

On the plus side the bathroom is nice and staff was excellent. The fridge and microwave is nice too and it seems safe and quiet. Beyond that, not horrible but the place could really use an update. The furniture is well worn and a 4" slab of foam rubber on the mattress can't hide the fact the bedding has served it's useful life. A nickel-sized burn hole in the bed spread was quite noticeable as well which is kind of surprising as bed clothing can be purchased second-hand after they've served at the Hiltons and Marriotts. There really aren't many hotels choices in Angola proper but I'm kind of on

I checked in during the mid-evening of Sat., Aug/5/2017. There was only one room left, a suite, but since I was alone, the clerk let me have it at a slight discount. The University Inn is a vintage property that is kept clean and well maintained. The grounds were recently mowed and manicured and there was no litter on grounds. Likewise, the room was clean and everything was in order. I looked thoroughly through the room and found nothing amiss. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to friends and plan to stay there again myself, if travel takes me to Angola. Conveniently adjacent
