Hospice is a word that no one wants to hear. Even with those words, I was gradually able to come to terms with the reality of my mother's condition. The staff at Longleaf made my mother's transition much easier to cope with. I received the needed support when I needed it the most. From volunteers that checked in on us, clergy bringing flowers, nurses calling to check on us on their day off, and aides dropping off supplies within hours. The medication was also delivered within hours of being ordered also.
The staff members were very patient and made us feel like my mother was their only patient
