Morrison Funeral Home
In 1954, William F. Morrison, Sr., along with his wife Ruth, founded The Morrison Funeral Home on Bartholdi Avenue and through his years of service earned the reputation as "a funeral director's director." A fact not known by everyone in the Tri-Boro area was that Bill Morrison was an accomplished drummer who played with the Jimmy Dorsey Band and several other "Big Bands" in the 1940's.

His playing was curtailed by World War II when he entered the U.S. Navy. Maybe a better known fact about Morrison was his love for dining out. He was a familiar face in many local eateries as well as restaurants outside the immediate area. He was a 1947 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.

We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.

I can’t say enough great things about this place. I shopped around looking for the best funeral home and I found it. Jim, the funeral director, genuinely cared and his work and consideration really showed how compassionate he was. The funeral home has great pricing, were always available to talk and very easy going. I can’t imagine how I would have gotten through this difficult time without their help.
