Our mission is to instill a passion for dance in a new generation of eager, young dancers. Dance is part art, part discipline and dedication, and part magic. All three elements are necessary and, at Motions, the magic appears in the art and the discipline. Located in south Lincoln, Nebraska, we offer a space where all classes are open to viewing.
Each class is taught on our sprung dance floor, allowing for a natural, high-quality dance experience. Our studio is designed to provide an open, inviting observation area. Every class is open for viewing. Welcoming visitors gives each dance instructor the opportunity to teach not only our dancers, but their families as well.

My daughters have been dancing at Motions for 3 years and we absolutely love it! Ms. Melissa and the other teachers are very welcoming and loving toward my girls. My kiddos have loved their time at Motions and we plan on being there for years to come!

I absolutely love Motions Dance Academy. I danced here for many years until I graduated high school and wouldn't trade these memories for anything in the world. The environment is a positive and uplifting one that not only pushes one to become a better dancer but to truly fall in love with the art of dance. I also always appreciated the age appropriate costumes, music, and choreography, something that is not always valued at other dance studios .

Motions has been a wonderful experience for us. My daughter has been dancing there for 8 years. The teachers and Mrs Melissa have made it such a positive experience. My daughter has been dancing with a lot of the same girls for years and its a great dance community. I like that the music and costumes are age appropriate. Motions is a great place and I would highly recommend it! I’m so thankful her daycare recommended it to us!

My daughter has been dancing at Motions for the past four years and my youngest and I recently started the Twogether class too. Motions has been a warm and steady dance studio for our family and my daughter has loved dancing there with her friends from school. It is fun to watch how her love of dancing has grown over the years. She has fun, learns ballet and tap dance moves and positions along with the art of staying focused, and I have a trusted place to send her for classes each week! Win-win for us both. She even had one of her birthday party's at the studio, fun for all!

Motions has truly become my second home!! I started dancing when I was 5, and from that moment on, I knew I wanted to dance for the rest of my life!! Melissa, and all the other teachers, sparked a huge passion for dance in me! Some of my fondest memories from preschool all the way to my graduation happened in this studio! I found lifelong friends, and a true family here!! I can’t imagine being anywhere else!! The greatest blessing of all is that now I get to pass along my love of dance to the next generation of wonderful dancers!!!

Motions Dance Academy provided me with the perfect learning environment to dance in throughout my school years. The community within the studio is spectacular. As I got into high school and started to try new things, the instructors supported me, encouraged me to do what I love, and I knew I was always welcome. Motions Dance Academy not only taught me how to dance, but it taught me how to be a good human and provided me with very many lifelong friendships. I am so fortunate to carry on the Motions mission while sharing what I learned with my students now. I highly recommend Motions Dance Academy

I began dancing at Motions when I was in first grade, and continued to do so all the way through high school. Motions is the perfect fit for all ages, as teachers always choose age-appropriate choreography, music, and costumes. I was provided with a wide variety of classes to learn from, and all of my teachers had a vast amount of knowledge and experience in the dance world.
It is difficult to put into words the love and gratitude I have for this studio. I never once felt judged by any instructor, but rather encouraged, and was always excited to come to class. There is, of course, a positive emphasis

We love Motions! My daughter started when she was 4-Melissa and Sydney are so welcoming. We have never felt judged and were welcomed with open arms. They teach not only technique but a love for dance and etiquette to be used outside of the studio. I knew Melissa when I was younger and I am so thankful my daughter gets to be taught by her and her love for dance.
I LOVE the open studio and being able to watch her class. With COVID they closed the viewing area but they have huge windows and you are still able to see everything. Very family friendly!
