Training in fine art, commercial design, and architectural history combined with practical experience in outdoor advertising laid the groundwork for a unique enterprise. As the company expanded so did its scope, growing to include multiple facets of architectural fabrication and corporate art. Entering the 21st century, ARTeffects edited its 'street name', or DBA, to ARTfx for simpler online identification.

An industry innovator in architectural sign design, technical illumination and specialty finishes, Lawrin's lifelong love affair with creative sign manufacturing has propelled ARTfx' reputation to worldwide recognition. Beginning over twenty years ago as Assistant to the President, Melissa mastered multiple fronts of ARTfx' manufacturing and computer technology.
The dramatic 30' tall guitar ARTfx produced fits in well with the many spectacular displays in Times Square. ARTfx worked masterfully with the New York Unions. Their interpretation of our conceptual renderings is consistently innovative and the fabrication is impeccable. Additionally, they have worked under some oppressive time frames and always within budget.
Whether the shipment involves a single-panel sign or illuminated letters requiring complex wiring, ARTfx will get it done. Additionally, our national partners have come to rely on our staff for expert permit procurement, meticulous installation, and resourceful cosmetic and electrical repair. ARTfx typically installs work within a 150-mile radius of our facility in Bloomfield, Connecticut.

My partner and I recently purchased a new home. We consulted with ARTfx and their creative design team. We wanted a sign for the property to put on our barn that would be in keeping with our 1835 Greek revival house. Their design totally hit the mark.
