The Solo Expedition Tent is sold out, I am considering the Atacama, what do I need to know? It is important to note that the Solo Tent weighs just slightly less than the Atacama and packs similarly. The sleep capacity of the Solo is distinctly for one camper and this is the main difference. It is a common misconception that the Solo Tent is half the size of the Atacama and this is not true.
Whether you sleep in a double-walled tent or a single-walled ultralight the root of and resolution to the problem are all the same. You can't stop breathing, you don't have control over the temperature highs and lows and sometimes the very best spot is right along the rushing river. VENTILATE, VENTILATE, VENTILATE and then VENTILATE SOME MORE.
Storing your tent: When you store a tent, make sure it is dry, very DRY. If a tent is left wet, even damp, for a prolonged period of time, mildew is likely to set in. After using, unpack your tent and check if it is wet or damp. If it is set up the tent and let it air dry. Try not to lay it on the grass as condensation will form on the tent.
