A chef known for his dips and spreads sold at farmers markets is cooking up success at a restaurant in the Clearing neighborhood. Chef Dale Andrews and his wife, Donna, launched Cafe 63 in 2015 at 6411 W. 63rd St., in a space that was home to Ginger & Jerry's Rock & Roll Diner for several years-and Cafe Renee for many years before that.
A self-described "corporate dropout" and self-employed catering chef who among other things, has been credited with interning at the legendary Dell Rhea's Chicken Basket in Willowbrook, Andrews said he "had been looking for a place for a few years" and the cozy space in Clearing was a good fit. You want a fried baloney sandwich?

Services
Absolutely love it! Catered breakfast for my entire staff and everyone complimented how delicious the food tasted. Food was hot and ready to be served! Our menu consisted of scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, and French toast! We got a great deal! I highly recommend everyone to check it out! Out of all places to eat this has become me and my wife favorite place after just moving here a year ago.

I just left this place. Ordered to go. Ordered 2 chopped steak meals. The hash browns are extremely bland no seasoning. Cooking is inconsistent some parts are still raw. They literally took half a steak chopped it into 12 tiny pieces, then they put six pieces in one order and six in the other. Pieces are smaller than a quarter. Eggs are bland no flavor no seasoning. First and definitely the last time. 40 dollars gone to waste. I should have went to McDonald's and got the steak and egg bagel meal for 5 dollars. Dont waste your time.

I really didn't want to write a review because of selfish reasons, this business needs to be recognized for its fabulous food!!! The choices are great from spam and eggs to bologna and eggs. There menu choices are great. There were six of us we were all served at the same time pipping hot. It is the first time I always order hash browns well done and OMG! They knew exactly what that was and they were perfect. Food portions were great cost was very reasonable service was quick tentative extra welcoming. Definitely becoming a regular customer. Just one thing I would love to see on their menu

This little place was perfect. After a 3 Day festival, 2 of my friends and i searched for a nice breakfast place that would hit the spot and this was it! the waitresses were super great and attentive. Down to the service, the food, the no wait time and how cute this little family owned restaurant- I will definitely remember this place if i ever come to visit the chicago area again!

Promptly seated by the host.
Cathy (Kathy) was a sweetheart! Super job! On the ball, and a lot of laughs. Cozy, comfortable, though not a huge place. Outside seating is available. Chicken & waffles was well received. Crisp, light coating on boneless breasts. Waffle divided in 4 triangles. Western omelet was a first time try - ever - and was very tasty. Nice variety of fruit on the side. The Conway County skillet was a great choice. Savory, crisp hash browns, and eggs just right. We'll be back!!

The best part about our dining experience is the waitress Cathy. A friendly highly energetic woman who is very attentive. She didn't do the "routine server" rounds because the rounds she did make felt way more genuine. She picked up any trash that was accumulating on the table and was very friendly.
The food was pretty good. I got the new York strip special which came with toast. Good selection of toasts available instead of just the normal white or wheat selection. The steak was cooked exactly as requested, the has browns were great and the eggs were also correctly cooked to my preference.

Nothing short of a dive bar with friendly staff. The staff gets the win here, the food was not good. My crab cake Benedict was missing the crab. It seems that food is prepackaged or something. My friends cup was dirty and her omelet was not as described on the menu, it went uneaten. Nice atmosphere and staff but they need to elevate the food preparation.

My friend invited me out for breakfast near her home so I drove out toward Midway Airport from downtown. What I found was a lovely and quaint little diner. The customers were obviously regulars of this husband and wife spot. It was adorable!
The exterior doesn't look like much. I almost thought they were closed. There is an L shaped parking lot that wraps around the back of the restaurant. Living downtown, I always appreciate easy parking. We were very happy to find that they were open.
Once inside, I found a classic Americana diner that felt cozy and welcoming. Booths and a counter service

A gem of a diner on the southwest side of Chicago! My friend Joe Kalas talks about Café 63 and Chef Dale Andrews's (who we also talk to) approach to dishing up good, honest food, made with fresh ingredients. Joe's favorites are the breakfast skillets, Friday fish fry and homemade chips and coleslaw. We're also talkin' fried bologna... Joe's had just about everything on the menu and it's all forkin' great!

Experience: Cafe 63 is a very small breakfast joint that is located within the south side of Chicago. With a party of 3, we were quickly seated and served. The ambience of the place seems to be very "mom and pop" shop, which is not a bad thing at all. If anything it made the whole experience very homey!
Parking: It appears to have free street parking and a rear parking lot. Parking was definitely not difficult to find. (Note: This was Friday afternoon)
Worth: Definitely worth going to if you are near the area. You really cannot go wrong with breakfast food. It was reasonably priced

Couldn't decide what I wanted. I asked them to surprise me.
Had a meat lovers omelet and a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy.
Hit the spot perfectly.
Best biscuits and gravy in the area. The gravy is just a bit peppery so it has a tiny kick.
All the food is always great and unlike a lot of other places I've eaten at.... They season things so they have flavor coming out of the kitchen.
Definitely recommend.

This has become our go-to place on Sunday mornings. Haven't been disappointed yet. Chef Dale's specials are always great. Pick one off the board. You can't go wrong. Today, I had a generous sized filet w/ eggs for $12.99 (great price). Great flame broiled taste. My wife had strawberry shortcake French toast. Wow that was tasty. Donna and Dale make everyone feel welcome. Update: try the country fried steak. One of the best I've had.

I usually love the breakfasts here - they are a bit pricey, but the taste makes me come back. Just over the weekend, I placed a to go order. I ordered a BLT, Pork chop and eggs, 4 soups, side of sausage and original cafe 63 skillet...it was $54! and to make matters worse, the skillet was so small, I could get twice the size from Three Sons - with more meat for the same if not less cost. So disappointed. Not sure I would go back now.

We tried the newly remodeled place for the first time and indeed it was an excellent experience from the decoration to the stylish plates that they use to serve the meals on, and the food was excellent as well. I tried the veggie egg white omelette and my honey ordered the cheese burger with fries. Nice taste perfectly cook.
Friendly atmosphere greeted by one of the owners That came to greet us few times to the table making sure we where doing good.

Very rarely do I give 5 stars. Not many good dining options in this neighborhood so I expected same old same old. Wow. Felt like I was eating in the west or south loop!! Amazing!! We over ordered so we can try interesting items-special note goes to: Texas style corn beef hash, biscuits & gravy and praline pecan bacon. Delicious!!
Very attentive wait staff
Home made and cooked to order-come when you're not in a big hurry.
Can't wait to go back for lunch options!!
Came back again 9/4/15-they don't open for breakfast until 8:00-don't get it. Very disappointed. Had
