Cardinal began in in 1975 as a family-owned general home contracting business. We were three relatives working in a small garage space in the Kensington section of Philadelphia but within our first six months of operation, we were subcontracted to do "re-facing" work. Over the next few years we realized that we could produce a better quality product that what we currently being subcontracted to install.
We revised our business model to improve the re-facing process by using a wood screw, no-glue installation and three-quarter inch solid wood framing, quarter inch side paneling and bottoms. The end result was wrapping new cabinets around your existing ones. Our goal was to provide kitchen spaces without the large budget needed at the time for a full demolition and rebuild.

Cardinal Cabinets redid our cabinet fronts 7-10 years ago, and did a wonderful job - very high quality with reasonable prices. We recently ran into a problem with the interior of one of our cabinets (not related to Cardinal Cabinets' work), but I called anyway to see if they could help. Brian kindly fit us into the schedule, came the next day, figured out the problem, and repaired it on the spot. After many renovation projects over the past several years, my husband and I agree that Cardinal Cabinets has been the most professional, easy to work with, and knowledgeable of all of the contractors

Cardinal is wonderful! Brian is one of the friendliest people I have ever done business with. They did my kitchen at my old residence and the custom entertainment system they built me years ago still looks brand new. It has traveled through three homes with me and has withstood a small tube tv that fit perfectly to a large flat screen that sat neatly on top for years. It still holds all of our stereo equipment without any problem. It has wheels on the bottom so my husband can easily pull it away from the way (even on carpet) to adjust the wires on our stereo from the back. Very good craftsmanship
