Services
Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was founded in Nags Head, NC in 2006 by licensed North Carolina Funeral Director Courtney N. Gallop. This independent, minority and woman-owned start-up funeral home challenged the existing monopoly firm which had sole control of all funeral care, goods, and services provided in Manteo, the Outer Banks, and Currituck County for nearly 100 years.
From a simple cremation to the coordination of full military honors, you can entrust Gallop Funeral Services to provide any combination of services and merchandise. Below is an abbreviated list of services and merchandise that we provide. Please contact us for a complete General Price List. We encourage consumers to compare the price lists of competing firms to be sure your family is provided with the best service at the fairest price.
Deliver high quality, safe, and ethical care to all deceased persons entrusted to our custody. At all times, perform professional duties in a spirit of cooperation, understanding, and respect for all groups in the community without regard to race, nationality, religion, or economic status.
We would like to remind families that like other life rituals and celebrations such as weddings, bar-mitzvahs, retirement, and anniversaries; funeral ceremonies can represent a significant expense. We believe that decisions for final care should be based on full information and full disclosure of funeral options and prices so each family regardless of their financial position, can fulfill their loved one's final wishes with dignity and honor.

Courtney was incredibly kind, patient and understanding with our family as we navigated a sudden loss. She took ample time to explain all of our options and helped us craft what worked for us emotionally, as well as financially. I have worked with other funeral homes in the area and no one has ever been as kind, patient and efficient as Courtney. Would highly recommend.

The only reason I gave 1 star is because it would not let me write a review.
Courtney Gallop is the mosy money hungry unprofessional greedy person I ever met.I would not take my wist enemies pet to her.it is all about tge all mighty dollar for her.If she does not have tge money up front she will not let you have a funeral.DO NOT USE THIS FUNERAL HOME.

I am sorry that the first reviewer, Heather, had such a negative experience at Gallop funeral home. I had the totally opposite experience. I found Courtney and her staff very patient and helpful to my family. They explained the process, gave all the options and had exceptional patience while family decisions were being made. I thought they were most flexible and accommodating during the whole experience. For as difficult as losing a loved one is - the Gallop group took a lot of stress out of the situation as a whole. Much appreciation to all who helped in this process at Gallop.

This funeral home is just OK
I wanted to take a few months after my dads death before I wrote a review!
There is not a lot of choices here on the OBX
I feel like if it weren’t for the sensitive nature of having to move my dad to a different location before he was cremated I definitely would’ve chose another place.
The lady who runs this place comes across as a not very compassionate person !
Money is everything she is worried about.
I understand people are in this profession to make a living however in the sensitive time I expected something different than what she displayed and also
