Family Counseling Service of NNY was founded in 1958. Our founders recognized the need for mental health services in Watertown and the surrounding communities. We are a family focused agency, providing services not just to the mom, the dad, or the child, but to the whole family. All of our services are provided by qualified professionals.
Family Counseling Service of NNY, Inc. provides professional counseling services to individuals, families, and couples through in-person, video and telephone options. Meet our Professional Clinical Team! Erin has a Bachelor's in Sociology from The College of Saint Rose. In 2009 she completed her Master's in Mental Health Counseling. Erin has been with Family Counseling Service since 2010. In 2020 she took on the role of Clinical Director, as well as carries her own client caseload.
Family Counseling Service of NNY's mission is to provide mental health care to all members of our community, regardless of their income. We do this through our sliding fee scale, which determines how much our clients pay based on their household income. Often times our clients receive our services at a rate lower than it costs our agency to provide these services.
Why Come to Counseling? Psychotherapy is the process of meeting with a therapist (or counselor) to talk about problematic thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, and feelings. Talking about these issues fosters insight into the problems experienced, increases self-awareness, and removes psychological barriers that prevent you from achieving your goals and having a sense of well-being.

Terrible experience! The staff seems to be very judgemental and quick to assume. You cannot speak freely with any services you receive at this establishment (my experience).Everything you say will be twisted and told to your caseworker ( if you attend due to cps case). My advise is to find these services they offer elsewhere. You will thank me later.

I recommend their peace/choices group. I absolutely loved Tracey, Christine & Emma 💕 They helped me through so much. I am such a better parent and a better me because of this place. I couldn't have asked for a better time for you all to have come into my life! thank you so much for the tools you all showed me to get through the hard days. :) & thank you to the other girls in my group.
