Went to The Kentucky Castle for brunch on Saturday and was pleasantly delighted by the entire experience!
I'd gone a few years ago for dinner and wasn't extremely impressed but wanted to give it another shot just never really remembered to go!
We made reservations on open table, but it wasn't very busy surprisingly.
Ambiance is fantastic. We were sat in the bar area next to a window and had the whole room to ourselves for majority of our meal.
Avery was our server and he was very attentive, polite and knowledgeable. My friend got the chicken and waffles and when I tell you it was

Our king room on the second floor was spacious and comfy. Wish it had been warm so we could have lounged out on the balconies. We loved the murder mystery dinner -- much madcap fun and a little chaotic. But intriguing to catch the clues and catch the killer. The only sour note of our stay was the dinner. We have been to the castle before and had an exquisite meal. This meal definitely did not meet that standard. Everything lacked seasoning. The fish, while well cooked, was nearly cold when served. The tasteless brown grain was inedible, as was the beet puree which rimmed the plate. The meatball

I expected a little bit more accommodations in the rooms, but overall service was great. There isn't a mini fridge or microwave. Which, I guess, I just assumed there would have been. There isn't a shop downstairs for anything of the such. No sodas, waters, or any food. They have an amazing restaurant there. We ate there last night and it was good. Service there was really good, too. Just wished the gift shop offered some cold drinks to purchase, and maybe some snacks.

The Christmas Santa Brunch is a hit or miss, really. We have been there for a few years now. Last year, the Santa experience with pancakes was magical! The Santa was awesome and the food was very nice, with a Hot Chocolate bar and adult beverages. This year, the food was not nice at all...and I didn't see a separate drink station. The Santa, however was super nice and spent time with each child!

We came for brunch. Location was stunning. Beautifully decorated for the holidays.
Service was not as expected. They were slow to get menus and place our orders. Had to ask for coffee refills multiple times And took over an hour to get our meals.
Food was mixed. Fried chicken on biscuit was perfect. Omelette sounded better than it tasted.

This place is awesome! As a native to Woodford County/Versailles, I've yet to step foot in this venue until now. It's wildly a lot smaller than it seems from a distance, but still a beautiful place inside and out! Went to brunch with family and it didn't disappoint. Brunch was affordable, service was fantastic (they even politely squeezed in a last minute add to our party), and the food was tasty. I had the lamb sausage and grits-- unique and delectable! It was beautifully decorated for the holidays too. I would love to come back for a full tour and try out their dinner menu sometime

I didn’t stay there , but My family went over there for dinner last night. I would leave zero star if I could. It was a worst experience we ever had.
Took 45 minutes to get food , after that , a lady (I think she is the manager ) came in check on us , I told her we still waiting for 1 more thing , and she told us she will checking the kitchen for us ,when she came back form the kitchen she told us if we still want the food need to wait for 15-20 minutes without any apology even my son cried about his food . I mean it was not our fault it was waiter forgot to send the order . Service from start

Have visited either for an event or dinner 4 times now over the course of the last 3 years. A few items like the cocktails have been consistent every visit.
Out of the 3 events: 2 murder mysteries and a beauty and the beast dinner, the latter was the standout. The Disney themed Beauty and the Beast dinner had actors in costume performing a select number of songs from the movie. The after dinner show was followed by waltz lesson on the rooftop.

We were looking forward to dinner at the castle. Not awful but not as expected. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The food was disappointing. The served product did not match what was described on the menu (e.g. pork chop served over beans??). The decor is beautiful but not the room we were in. It was sad.

We stayed here one night and it was such a perfect experience and far exceeded expectations. The room was well appointed with lots of amenities and thoughtful items like the makeup remover and mouthwash. We had drinks at the bar where Jordan made us some amazing cocktails, followed by dinner and then we had breakfast in the morning before we left. The grounds are gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the bed was so comfortable. What a great stay and a nice moment to relax during our Bourbon Trail vacation!

The bartender was great. The seasonal drinks were very good. The holiday decor was exquisite.
I expected more from the "farm to table" experience and food quality. I ordered Italian wedding soup and it was broth and one small meatball, nothing else. The Brussel sprout app, although flavors were good, half the Brussels sprouts came out pretty raw still. Also menu items were not all available.
Last, Some staff (not limited to the dining experience) were friendly, others were not and didn't even acknowledge you existed. The hospitality has room for improvement.

Establishment is worth stopping to view the castle. It's also venue for weddings, private parties in the unique gift shop many crowns to purchase along with speciality items. The daylight offers Exquisite views upon darkness it's totally different the ambience glows so magical almost breath taking. It's history is every piece was dismantled and brought to Kentucky. The castle/hotel is upscale and offers meals, great atmosphere.

You all made my family feel like they were the most important people on earth. First with the gourmet breakfast for my Aunt and Uncle Ralph and Lisa from Colorado, and then for the beautiful and entertaining castle tour for the rest of my family. Megan did a tremendous job as our tour guide and master photographer. Finishing up at the farm was the highlight however for all of us as that place is coming alive right before our eyes. Monica was so gracious to let us feed the animals and explore the grounds. Marybeth is the epitome of hospitality. Getting to step inside of the Tiny homes with her was

In town for a wedding celebration and decided to take a chance on the Castle. What a great choice. Wonderful atmosphere, and they already were putting up their Christmas decorations. Boutique hotel that is built as a mid-evil castle. Only 14 or 15 rooms with ceilings that are over 20 feet high in the rooms. Built in 1969 as a private home and then become a B&B and now a small hotel. Close to Lexington and out in the horse country so very scenic. LEX airport is only 10 minutes away.
Highly recommended as the rooms are high end and the service was outstanding. If you are in the Lexington

I was born and raised in Versailles. I watched this treasure evolve for gosh... a huge part of my life! However, this Sunday was the first time I had been there to eat. I was so pleasantly surprised. We had reservations for 8:45 am and we were welcomed in at exactly at our reservation time on the dot! Our server was on the ball. The food... I'm in love! The decor was exactly what I expected. Very nice, clean, elegant yet not overstated or intimidating. Totally pleasant not overdone at all. The prices are better than Cracker Barrel however the menu items are a little limited but what

Went there for dinner a few days ago. The grounds are quite pretty with great views from the rooftop. The food however was mediocre at best. We ordered the oxtail medallions and dumplings to start. The oxtail plate was so hot that it cooked the moisture out of the sauce which effectively made that sauce more of a crust with no liquid properties; oxtail itself was fine. The dumplings were so extremely over cooked that they were tough and chewy. Coupled with the fact there was zero filling, I wasn’t really sure what I was eating. My entree was the pork chop which was so so. The cut was ok, but

This place is really nice.... But pricey. For the $$ we spent on the Presidential suite, I expected more. From the road it looks grand... but much smaller once your inside. Room was nice, however not enough toiletries and towels for our length of stay (2 days) so had to ask for more. The Farm restaurant was excellent! Staffing was on top of everything and very friendly. Drinks at the bar were very good.

My family and I toured this lovely castle on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. A 20k square ft castle! Yep!!
Before becoming a boutique hotel, this was the actual home of Rex and Carolyn Martin. Unfortunately, the couple divorced and the castle was abandoned for 35 years. So as you can tell there's a-lot of history surrounding The Kentucky Castle.
Tom Post eventually purchased the home / castle for 1.8 million dollars. Today this venue hosts weddings , brunches , teas etc and most notably is a boutique hotel. I think with about 15 rooms.
I only posted a few pics but as you can see

Hubby took me to The Castle per my request for my bday breakfast. I've been to the venue for other events but never just for a meal. The Castle had always had an appeal for me since I was a child & my mom would drive to Lexington to visit friends. We always got excited to see THE Castle. Reservations were made but they were definitely not busy. We were the only people in the dining area but our server told us a large party was coming in for brunch after us. Everyone wore masks and as mentioned plenty of spacing. Staff were so kind and let us tour before and after our food arrived. My hubby

We are from out of state and decided on a whim to do the tour of the castle today. The tour guide, Matt Davis was phenomenal. He was super knowledgeable about the history, added so many fantastic moments of humor, and kept our whole group (age 2-72) engaged. There's really something for everyone. If you're looking for a great activity to get an inside look to Lexington and where it's headed in the future, this is a must-do!

Our first trip here. We stopped in for brekkie on the start of our bourbon trail tour! The venue is just gorgeous and we were warmly greeted and taken to our table. Kendall took excellent care of us start to finish!
I got the southwestern breakfast bowl with a side of the fresh lamb sausage. The dish was so farm fresh you could taste the color and texture in every bite. My chick had the frittata and I have to say it was awesome too. All the ingredients are either grown on the castle farm grounds or locally sourced. It showed and tasted that way too. Even if you can't get a room there,

Went here for a class. The class was painting bourbon barrel heads and we had a great time doing so. This is a nice venue. Friends of mine have stayed overnight and really love the place.
I walked around the place and was able to see the rooftop dancing area and the dining tables on the 2nd and top floors outside.
They have a gift shop for purchasing items such as t-shirts, totes, and souvenirs.
The dining room was beautiful. I am also told that they really light the place up for the holidays!
Did I mention they also have a cocktail bar? I had a mimosa! Fun day at the castle.
