Sam Hicks, is the biggest flake in the business, totally un professional. Does not return your call at all. He did not do as he was asked to do. Put us in a horrible position. And the firm he works with couldn't be any better.

Sam Hicks is the best! Ask for him when you go to Stern, Kory, Sreden & Morgan. He is able to deal with sensitive tax issues (I have had several friends call him on April 14th, you know what I mean!) and has helped me find solutions for really difficult circumstances!
As a graduate student, Sam helped me file my taxes so I could keep my financial aid and now, as a homeowner and parent, he makes sure we are always up to date on what we can do to stay organized and on track. Customer for life!!

The most thorough CPA firm in Santa Clarita. If there is a deduction to find, they found it for me. Very thorough. Very good communication. They legally cut my taxes to the bone. Harold managed an in-depth audit for me and masterfully handled the auditor. I came out with flying colors. Very happy. Not a discount firm by any means but you get what you pay for in a greatly reduced tax bill. Professional and thorough.

It's easy to become complacent with who you choose to do your taxes. It's a decision that once you make you tend to not change, for better or for worse, because you do it either out of habit, or frankly, you just don't know any better. Last year after using the same accountant to do my taxes for over 10 years I became irate after IRS wrote me a letter stating that I had a very large refund coming because I had overpaid my taxes. When you hire an accountant to do your taxes you expect them to get you the maximum refund, not the IRS.
