Woodsmith's Manufacturing started with Rick Smith and his wife Tonya. While Rick worked as a merchant marine, he always used his down time to tinker and make small projects out of different species of wood. Wood working was, and still is, one of his favorite hobbies. It wasn't until he and his wife Tonya started a family that Rick then took a job working for the local Railroad.
He enjoyed the work, but it wasn't what he truly wanted to do. Rick used his spare time to build different pieces of furniture and eventually was able to sell some to local stores. The Pine Cone Gift and Furniture Store was one of the first stores to acquire Rick's handywork. At the age of 34, Rick left his job at the Railroad to build furniture full-time from the basement of his home.

Woodsmith's Manufacturing is a locally owned and operated manufacturing facility that specializes in custom kitchen/bath cabinetry and fine furniture. Our mission is to provide furniture and fine cabinetry that exceeds our customer's expectations in quality and affordability while maintaining a safe, happy and motivating environment for our employees.
We are Maine's largest manufacturer of unfinished Pine furniture. We can build with any species of wood including pine, cherry, maple, oak and any other specialty woods upon request. Some furniture items we build are beds, nightstands, dressers, TV stands, coffee tables, sofa tables, jelly cabinets, buffets, hutches, custom built-ins, closet organizers and more.
