Roadrunner Paving and Asphalt Maintenance started with humble roots and a desire to help. We weren't always the large paving company we are today with a wide selection of high-quality tools and materials to handle any paving job. When Leon Slade and Elmo Chesley started the company in 1979, it was a small custom paving business.
Roadrunner Paving started by helping out others who needed paving work but who didn't have the equipment to do it themselves. Outside of new construction paving, there are 3 types of asphalt paving that occur: patching (roadway utility cuts or along freshly installed concrete and generally in conjunction with a maintenance application), overlay, and remove and replace. Patching is necessary work when the roadway has been cut to insert utilities add new concrete or when sections of pavement have completely deteriorated.
The smallest problems can bring down the toughest materials. For your asphalt pavement, that means tiny cracks that can lead to big problems down the road. Over time, small cracks naturally grow in your asphalt as the materials age and weaken. The trouble is that these small cracks let water to penetrate the asphalt and seep through to the subgrade.

We live in a gated community in north Phoenix and your company recently provided a much-needed pavement preservation treatment. It has indeed improved the appearance of our private community streets and culdesacs as well as provided the smoother/safer ride and preserved and extended the life of our pavement. The project was completed on the three days as scheduled to the 90+ residents and your team worked to accommodate specific needs. Your seal coat is better, thicker, blacker, smoother, better than we have experienced by previous company in similar assignment. Thank you.
