What makes our program unique is our combination of products, people, and purpose.
These session strengthen you for holding your baby, safely prepares you to perform core work for the push and quicker recovery, stabilize your hips by working the right muscles, and gently be guided into soft stretches where it feels good. MOD Mama addresses alignment and postural changes that occur during and after pregnancy.
We do private training to help with pelvic floor issues such as incontinence, C-Section recovery and Diastasis. We will help you reclaim your core. Learn to properly pick up, and hold your baby. Go over everyday activities in good form that may be slowing your healing, reduce inflammation. These sessions can be done either at our studio or at your house depending on the distance for an additional travel fee.

After having a baby, I felt disconnected from my body. So, for the first time in my life, I sought out one-on-one physical training. Mod Mama classes for pre and postnatal are AMAZING. I'm 14 weeks into my pregnancy with my wedding just around the corner and wanted to find a prenatal exercise class that felt like a REAL WORKOUT -- one that could get me feeling fit and toned. This is it! Jessa is incredibly informative and knowledgeable and always has you tuning into your pelvic floor. So grateful I discovered this class!

If you're looking for an amazing and fun full body workout - look no further! Mod Physique is seriously the best. I have tried it all over the last 8ish years. Yoga, Barre, OTF, Pilates, and this is by far my favorite class Ive ever taken! I love that it combines cardio, weights, barre and pilates. Each class is slightly different and I NEVER find myself wondering, "when is this over?". In fact, I don't want the class to end sometimes! I have been attending Mod Physique for close to 3 years now and I am a fierce, loyal member. Jessa has created a warm, inviting and friendly gym. Her classes are small and intimate so I feel like I get a more personalized experience. Just recently I have started personal training with Jessa and I love it! I highly recommend Mod Mama for pre and postnatal fitness classes. I regret that I hadn't discovered it earlier in my pregnancy because it is a very challenging and energetic workout that isn't watered down like most prenatal workout videos I had tried. Jessa and Kerry are both amazing instructors and I would recommend the class to any expecting (or postpartum) mother. They pay very close attention and tailor each workout to suit the clients needs. The class size is small which allows them to give an individual attention when needed.

I LOVE MOD PHYSIQUE! I joined the studio when I first moved to Portland and have been going 2-4 times/week for the past 2 years. I feel so strong and confident because of the killer workouts. Jessa is a very knowledgable instructor; she is very mindful of posture & form to ensure that her students are maximizing their workouts and are doing so safely to prevent injuries. I also love the Mod Physique community; it is a cozy group where everyone is welcoming and friendly.

After trying nearly every fitness, pilates and yoga studio in the NE, I was so glad to come across Mod Physique and find exactly what I was looking for - a friendly, fun and challenging studio with no pretense or intimidation. Jessa has created a wonderful environment that actually makes me want to work out (no small feat). I love coming to class and have seen the results quickly. The instructors know what they're doing and are great at suggesting adjustments. The classes are small enough that you get personal attention (but don't feel in the spotlight). Jessa is such a wonderfully dynamic and attentive leader. This workout makes you sweat and feel the burn. The marriage of cardio, weight training, and combo moves helps me feel a full body workout in just an hour. Ive been to the studio about eight times and have never done the same workout twice. Jessa does an exemplary job giving everyone feedback on body positioning for maximum safety and burn potential. I may be so bold to say this is the perfect workout. Mod Physique it the perfect mix of pilates, barre and cardio. Classes are fast-paced, challenging and include tons of creative exercises. They are also a great bargain, and include options to buy class packages if you don't have time to take advantage of the unlimited monthly. I really enjoyed the instructor and the class size was great. I did the Mod Physique class. It was a good workout. Not the best I have had but a really good one. I am training for a half marathon right now so this is a wonderful workout to do on my break days. And it is in a really accessible location. For people that don't often workout this is an amazing workout.

I have been a runner, swimmer, hiker, and martial artist for years. I've always been super active, but a year and a half ago, I developed sciatica. It was extraordinarily painful. I quickly went from working out three or four times a week to feeling comfort only when I was lying on the couch with a heating pad. Pure misery. I saw a chiropractor and an acupuncturist who together relieved the immediate symptoms, but who also told me that I needed to truly strengthen the small muscles in my hips and low back or I was going to continue to struggle with sciatica.

This class has reinvigorated my workout. I just love it here. I was at a gym for over 10 years and just couldn't give it up because each time I tried a new work out or studio, I just wasn't challenged enough to make the change. Well, I tried Mod Physique and have now been going for over 6 months. I love this work out! It is a great welcoming, knowledgeable environment. The routine and music change weekly so it is always fun and hits on a new body part. Jessa's gentle correction to form and posture help me so much to build and lengthen my muscles. The barre is something I have never done and even thou it's difficult I am enjoying it so much. I am using muscles I never thought I had. Jessa is such a creative teacher and I am amazed at all the different exercises she comes up with. She is so knowledgeable and i feel like I am getting an education on the proper way to do Pilates. I have taken numerous pilates classes at other studios and never felt like I was getting much from them. I feel like I am finally getting the benefits from pilates.

The best fusion workout in the city!
I've taken numerous barre-based workout classes in Portland and elsewhere in the PacNW, and this is hands-down the best one: individual attention with a warm but firm focus on form, and true High Intensity Interval Cardio mixed in with the effective barre, weights, pilates, and yoga derived exercises.
Three + months of consistent attendance have shown visible changes in my body - arm and abdominal toning! that I never thought possible! - but MOD has brought even more than that... I'm aware of my posture and breath in new ways, I'm dedicated

Edit and Update! I've now been going to Mod Physique on a regular basis, as in four times a week, for several months now. Jessa has added both a stretching class as well as a 'Mod 45' class which has less cardio for people who may not be quite ready for the challenges of her regular hour-long Mod Physique class. As Jessa's been teaching more and there are more regular students, she's expanding into even more challenging sets that focus on inner and outer thigh work, glutes, hip flexors, and... burpees. :) My abs have never been this strong, and I can definitely tell that

I was visiting Portland for a two week vacation and saw the 4-class deal on living social. So glad that I decided to try out the classes!!! Jessa, the instructor, was excellent---gave clear instructions, was tough but gave solid modifications when needed, friendly, prepared interesting routines, picked good music---I could go on! I'm back in NYC now but if I ever move back to Portland, I would definitely take her classes. If you live there and want to have fun AND be toned and healthy, take her classes! I promise it will be good for you.
