This NRA Sanctioned Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual's right to self-defense. More Details: This is an 8-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition.

NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) training is essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and conducting Range operations often mandatory for organized shoots. This is a course conducted by a Chief RSO, an individual certified to train NRA Range Safety Officers.
The RSO course provides instruction in RSO roles and responsibilities, typical range SOP's (standard operating procedures), range inspection and developing and enforcing range rules, how to handle firearm stoppages and malfunctions, and how to conduct Range Safety Briefings which include procedures to follow in the case of an emergency.
