Alan Guevara, owner and founder of Vara Upholstery, opened his own shop after he quickly learned that the boat he had saved all his money to buy, needed a full interior, but he simply could not afford it. He apprenticed at a local shop and learned as much as he could, while not only the trade, but also great customer relations from the owner of the shop he chose to apprentice for.
We offer vinyl upholstery services for marine, commercial and some cycle work. We also do minor canvas work such as cockpit covers, some T-Tops, canvas repairs such as zippers, glass replacement, tear repairs, etc. All of our work is done with top of the line materials and backed up by a one year warranty on workmanship, no questions asked.

Vara was a referral from another shop, knowing I had a difficult project.
I was first impressed by the cleanliness of the shop and friendliness of the employees. This gave me a sense that this would be a good place to take my upholstery project on my boat.
Alan and his crew took great time and patience and helped my wife pick new material, ordered it, and told me that he was out about 3 weeks, but that on a certain date he would be here at noon to start the project. On that date and at 11:45 he and his crew showed up as promised and went right to work.

Alan reupholstered my family's boats this year and did a fantastic job!
On both the tender and the 1978 aluminum Striker Yacht used in the movie Caddy Shack! He was always on time and went above and beyond our expectations. We will recommend this company to the pickiest of consumers. We lost a large seat cushion in a storm on a boating trip in the Dry Tortugas and Alan had a replacement made for us by the time we arrived in Key West. Very impressed!

I went to go see the finished boat today and I was beyond impressed. On top of doing amazing work they really work with you on color schemes and ideas to make your boat stand out. They were always professional and willing to answer questions. The interior turned out great and I will be contacting them again for some additional custom work I want done.
