Shaw Solar was founded in 2006 by John Shaw, a Master Electrician, after two decades of solar and traditional electric work in the Durango area.

Initially I though Shaw had done a fine job installing my solar system. However over the years the system needed repairs and service. If was difficult to get Shaw to come out and service the system and each time it was a healthy bill. When my system broke again last month I was told by them that they no longer service the type of system I have. I was rather disappointed and question the ethics of a company that doesn’t stand behind their work, equipment, and customers.

What a joy to create clean solar energy on the roof of our passive solar sunroom. Shaw Solar was recommended by several friends, and we nearly every month create much more energy than we use, which helps Empire Electric to deliver more clean energy to our community. Our energy credits carry over month to month, so we only pay the base fee.

Amazing in a town known for a bit of laissez-faire, Shaw was on time or a few minutes early for every appointment. Professional, masked, cleaned up after their work!!! I was on a list, called at the last minute and asked if I
was willing to move my date up (which I was) and they were there the next morning. The price was competitive and their long history in town and my friends who had old solar with no issues at all, made the choice obvious. The office group walked me through everything and were as intent on making this work as were the installers. Overall, couldn't have been more impressed.

I recently contracted with Shaw Solar for a capacity upgrade of my net-metered solar array. The entire project was handled smoothly and professionally. Every Shaw Solar employee involved, from sales to planning to construction, was courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. They coordinated very well with the local electric utility. Shaw Solar's schedule for completion of my project met my expectations and the work was indeed done on time. My upgraded system is functioning just as I had hoped. I highly recommend Shaw Solar!
