Alki Fence

Duke and his team did a great job installing ornamental metal fence with rolling gate and rail. i am very happy with their work. Duke's team has very good work ethics, and they are very friendly. we hired Alki fence thrice till date, and everytime, they do work very professionally and 100% to the requirements i had provided them. The estimate provided was good and their quality of work was equally good. What i liked about Duke is, he remembers each and every small requirement and addresses all of them, even though he does not mention it on the quotation. i would hire them the 4th time, if need

I should have read the reviews here before I contacted Alki Fence. They were 40 mins late for the site visit. And after the visit, they promised they would send me the quote the next day, while they didn't. I called them several times in 10 days asking for the quote. Like what other reviews said, every time they said they would send it "tomorrow / the end of day". However, I never get an email from them. This is just waste of time.

*Last good review was left over 2yrs ago* Duke came out to quote a rolling gate. They had done my neighbors fence so I thought I'd get mine done too! Never got a quote from Duke. Left 3 messages and then finally emailed. I was able to get a response and a quote (after a week between each email) but still can't get him to write back to book. TO BOOK! Apparently there is only two companies that do rolling gates and I recommend going through the other business.

Duke came out, looked, took measurements and said he would have a quote to me by the end of the day. It's been three weeks and I haven't heard anything back from him at all. If I could've given this company zero stars I would have. I would like to thank Duke because if this is how this company does business he saved me from a lot of headaches. Thanks Duke!! :0)

Had them run about 100' of black chain link and 30' of wood with two gates. Duke came out and measured, we had our bid a few days later. Bid was competitive with others, they were available to come out a couple weeks later. The crew came out and did great work, got it all done in a day and cleaned up the jobsite really well. During this time Duke came out twice, made sure everything was going according to plan, and helped figure out a small hurdle (because every job has hurdles!).

Did not even have a chance to give them a chance. The representative was supposed to be out on April 11th between 11-12pm. He called that morn and said it would be 6pm. He called at6:20pm and would not be out. Could not come again until the 16th in the afternoon. we asked to have it moved to between 5-6 pm. That was not a problem, apparently it was because he never showed up or called. Not a very good way to do business.

Duke came and took measurements. Never sent quote. I called back after a week to follow up and he said he would send quote the next day. 10 days later, still no quote. Obviously this is a huge red flag about how the business is not being managed. Other reviews are stating same problem about Alki. There’s plenty of other fencing contractors that want customers. Not Alki apparently.

Alki is one of the few who will do both indoor and outdoor fencing. We had two outdoor "railings" built and installed on site by them AND two small indoor railings built at their site and installed in the house here. We are purely delighted with their work. I would give them 5 stars.

Update: My fence has gotten worse. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPE. *End of update* Buyer beware! You get what you pay for. Alki was definitely the lowest bidder on our wood fence, but unfortunately it's reflected in the quality of the work. One gate post went askew after one month and needs to be pushed aside in order to close the gate. The gate trim was nailed poorly and has split the post. I've tried to contact Duke multiple times to address these issues with no response, and thus this review

Had Alki Fence do about 120linear feet of regular estate fence in or backyard. It’s now been 2 years and it’s still looking great. On here again because I’m thinking about doing a railing. Duke came out for a quote which was very competitive. The first day of work they had the old fence completely removed and new posts in place. The second day they had the job finished. On time and on budget is all I ask for these days.

I had a fence repair, waited over 10 days to get an estimate, and THREE phone calls to "Duke" to send the estimate, and STILL NEVER GOT ONE! Really? WHY BOTHER?

Duke responded quickly whenever I called, I set an appointment for the following day for a quote and he came by after finishing up with another customer. The quote was very reasonable, we had a quote for $200 less but that company didn't show up for 8 weeks, Alki Fence was on site 10 days after confirming the project with me, and the crew turned up a little early.
Duke responded to any phone enquiries promptly, it's always best to call his cell. He was friendly, professional, and efficient. The fence looks great, it was replaced and built in a day. Would highly recommend Alki Fence for your project

I called Alki fence to get an estimate on installing a gate to go with my existing wood fence. They made an appointment in a timely matter and gave me a ridiculously expensive quote. I discussed with them I would touch base with them later in the week if I was gonna go with them because I had another estimate to get. I called them the following Friday and told them thanks for coming out but I was gonna go with my other bid.

I'd give 4 or 5 stars for the fence work. They built a nice fence at a very fair price.

However, in the process they wreaked havoc on a lot of landscaping. It's going to cost hundreds of dollars to repair that damage.

If I used them again, I'd watch them like a hawk the whole time they were here.

On the plus side, Alki Fence was the only one of 4 or 5 places I called that actually came out to my house and gave a bid for my fence. Most didn't even return my call or didn't want a "small" job (a $3000 project is small?), and one other came out but never sent a bid. The work they did was ok. They installed cable railing on my deck but left some hammer marks on the wood.

Within a few months I noticed that 2 of the cable railings were installed incorrectly and I couldn't tighten them. They sag and look bad. I called and emailed Alki Fence multiple times and heard nothing

I have drooled over my fair share of home improvement show on HGTV. I have ooOOOooo and awwwWeee when they make dramatic transformations by just painting a few walls and making a plywood bookshelf. But I have to say I have never experienced a transformation quite like our new fence by Alki fence.

Our new fence has extended the usable boundaries of our home and I love it. It is so beautiful, well constructed and completely utterly functional. Alki fence did a fabulous job and they were the most affordable estimate out of all the fence companies we looked at.
