Ahts Architects
In 1948 architects Thomas Flinn, AIA, and Siberius "Si" Saito, AIA, opened their office in downtown Waterloo, Iowa. Their first project was St. Edward's Catholic Church followed by Columbus High School and Don Bosco High School. Daryl Andersen, AIA, joined the firm as a partner in 1974. Tom Flinn and Si Saito retired in 1976.

Architect Robert DeVoe later merged his architectural practice with Daryl Andersen and continued the work Flinn Saito Andersen Architects had begun. As the group transitioned to host a new crop of architects, the firm did business as Andersen Holst Trost Svoboda Architects (aka AHTS Architects) from 1994-2019.
Services
We have assisted numerous communities in the development of a Master Plan that provides a full continuum of care, as needed by the specific community. One example is the South Campus Master Plan of the Western Homes Communities in Cedar Falls. It includes independent living (congregate or duplex and four-plex), assisted living, and skilled nursing care (both memory support and rehabilitation).
We are excited to partner with Aase Haugen Senior Living out of Decorah, Iowa to create their new 55,000 square foot Senior Living Facility which will include 60 Nursing, 18 Dementia, 12 Assisted Living Residents, a large chapel and an out patient therapy. A facility study is currently being executed for Gladbrook-Reinbeck Community School located in Reinbeck, Iowa.
We partner with engineers, specialty consultants, constructon managers, and contractors to ensure our clients are fully served regardless of the location. Partnerships may last beyond the needs of a single client or project. Those relationships are the result of complimentary services that benefit the client and the mutual respect and support forged from the work done on past projects.
Find us on the southwest corner of East 4th and Mulberry Streets. When you enter through the front door off East 4th Street (labeled Lincoln Park Building), take the stairs or elevator up one floor. You'll see Suite 204 directly in front of you when the elevator door opens or if you take the stairs, it's down the hall to the right.
