Advanced Metal and Welding was founded in 1926 by a hard-working entrepreneur named A. T. Girvin. Mr. Girvin focused the business on sheet metal work for the railroad industry. In 1951, Mr. Benjamin Crigler, in partnership with R. C. Duncan, ran the business for the recently retired Mr. Girvin. In 1960, Mr. Crigler bought the company and began to pursue jobs in design, fabrication, and installation for various industries.
