Syracuse Dance Academy
We have been building self confidence and developing talents in the Davis County and surrounding area for over 15 years! The goal of the Syracuse Dance Academy is to offer quality classes in ballet, jazz, children's dance, cheer, tumbling and hip hop. We work to improve each student's self-esteem in a positive and fun atmosphere, while providing excellent training for each individual.

Classes are offered for beginning through advanced levels, ages 18 months and up. Boys only tumbling and adult classes are available. Something fun for the whole family! Come for fun and enjoy one of our recreation classes or join one of our competitive dance or cheer teams! Our curriculum is technique based.
Services
The goal of our ballet program is to help each student really learn proper technique and terminology in an atmosphere that is supportive and addresses individual needs. Students who seem to excel and really enjoy ballet generally have a certain personality type. They enjoy rules, order, perfection and love to work to achieve difficult tasks.
Recreational (rec) Cheer: Classes are once a week for 1 hr with no competitions. They will participate in recital at the end of the year. Students will work for 30 minutes on cheer skills like jumps, arm angles and stunting and for 30 minutes on tumbling skills. All teams perform at a Festival of Trees, a Weber State basketball game, a nursing home and 2 competitions in the spring-time as well as at our end-of-year recital.
Children's Dance is a 45 minute class where students receive basic dance instruction with emphasis on coordination, rhythm and timing. The first third of class is Tap. The remainder of class is dedicated to Ballet and Creative Movement. They learn basic dance steps; develop rhythm, timing and coordination while working on their large motor skills.
Our Hip Hop and Breakdance classes are a once-weekly rec classes where students will receive instruction with emphasis on various modern styles of hip hop and breakdance (think of the background dancers in music videos). Level (either I or II) is determined by both age and/or skill level. Students will participate in the recital.
Students enrolled in jazz classes will receive instruction with emphasis on proper technique, rhythm, precision, coordination, and flexibility. Jazz is great for high energy kids who love musical theater and being on stage. They will learn basic dance movements and skills while gaining knowledge of dance terminology in an upbeat fun atmosphere.

Our girls have loved each of their various classes at Syracuse Dance Academy from tumbling to ballet to jazz. I always recommend this business to anyone who is looking for a dance class for their children. They have a great variety of choices to choose from and my kids have always had fun there. The recitals are professionally done as well.

I have three daughters who dance, tumble, and cheer here. They all love their teachers and the experience. All my girls have very different personalities and the staff works well with each of them.

The teacher are good, however i think they let their classes get larger than they can handle and still teach effectively. It could be better if their class discriptions we followed and when you sign up for a certain class all the kids in the class were close to the same level of skill. Example there are children far younger than 4 in my daughter advances tumbling class and it seems they get most of the attention.
