Selecting your lenses and frame is a very personal choice. A wide variety of options are available that can be tailored to suit your medical needs and your fashion preferences. Alaska Vision Center has eye wear selections that give you superior vision, exceptional quality and up-to-the-minute style.
There are a number of reasons why you might prefer contact lenses over standard eye wear: a glasses-free look, hassle-free vision correction, wearing non-prescription sunglasses or goggles, or the convenience of not having to worry about misplacing your glasses. If you have a high prescription or astigmatism, contact lenses may provide better vision correction than glasses.
Alaska Vision Center provides consultation and referrals for these common vision correction surgeries and procedures. Vision correction is a general term used to describe a variety of optometric techniques for correcting less-than-perfect vision. For your convenience, we have included here a brief description of the most common vision correction procedures along with low-vision support information.
Below are brief descriptions of the various eye conditions commonly seen and treated by the optometrists at Alaska Vision Center. There are many different types of eye conditions that could be affecting your eyesight or could have long-term consequences if not treated properly or promptly. We list some of the more common conditions below.

This was my first visit to an optometrist, so I don't have a prior experience to compare it to. Although Gold star on the team for being so welcoming, and interactive!

Awesome staff and doctor Sarah rocks. They got me in for an infection, new patient same day, when other doctors in town aren't taking new patients.

At first I was happy with the service. That changed on the second visit. I was treated rudely by some staff on the eyeglass store and then banned from getting further treatment. I never got to tell what happened. Ive since found a better doctor. I would not recommend this establishment.

Everyone was so mindful of the new precautions and friendly. I found that the whole experience was quick and easy! I especially liked how they choose several frames for me to try on and the first pair was exactly what I wanted.

I am EXTREMELY UNHAPPY with Alaska Vision Center at this time! I know we are in a pandemic, but their service is atrocious! I called in May for an appointment, because my glasses were broken. The woman at the front desk was very hesitant to give me an appointment and made no offer for the techs to try to fix my glasses. I finally weaseled an appointment out of her for July 7, 2020. The optometrist would not prescribe new lenses until I saw my physician for blood work. I saw my doctor the following week and called the optometrist's office back for my follow-up visit. This place is absolutely disgusting as far as I'm concerned I went in to get my glasses replaced because they were hurting my eye the wrong prescription and they wouldn't do it for me, it was only because of that was a Medicaid recipient and didn't qualify for a replacement pair of glasses that was their fault to begin with they were just unwilling to pay for the extra cost at the expense of their own wrong doing. I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone at all, as a matter of fact I'd warn people from going from going to a place like this, yeah I didn't even get an apology for that

My exam went wonderful my doctor and assistants were great. The eyeglass side was disappointing, I felt rushed and like they picked the glasses for me so I backed out and I will return when I have more time to shop for myself. Overall I'm very happy with the services.

This place is amazing! I lost my two weeks worth of contacts and was stuck on a cruise ship. I had my optometrist fax my prescription to their office. The office staff was so kind to give me a pair of contacts to last me for the rest of my trip. Thank you for helping me enjoy scenic Alaska!

I love going to see Dr. Jill. Her staff is friendly and helpful. She explains what she is doing throughout the visit. You know the health of your eyes when you leave. She is open for asking questions and willing to take time with you. I would recommend this practice for your eye care.

The doctors at Alaska Vision Center served my needs for many years since my previous eye doctor retired. The doctors are highly skilled and stay current on the latest innovations in eye care and equipment. The staff members project an attitude of service and are always pleasant. On a zero to 10 scale, I rank Alaska Vision Center as a 10 and would refer people to them.
