Mr. Leroy sponsored a bill back in 1982 that prevents someone with mental illness from protecting themselves in their own criminal defense trial. I find it ironic that he is now a criminal defense attorney. He should be working for the prosecuting attorney's office. My father, Robert Schaefer, an Idaho State Legislator for almost 30 years, hosted… a fundraiser for Mr. Leroy back in the 80's at our house. I told him about this law and how it has affected his grandson. Mr. Leroy, you need to right your wrongs because there was nothing good about your legislation. It is, in fact, preventing
