Services
We will begin class by warming the body and increasing our flow of prana (energy), with a heat building vinyasa flow that matches breath to movement, followed by a sequence of poses that are held a little bit longer (5-10 breaths). Focus Flow also places an emphasis on pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation as valuable tools that we will explore, and use as a way to calm our nervous system.
Sound Therapy is the ancient practice of using sound and vibration as a tool for inducing relaxation and self healing. Our bodies innately know how to heal themselves, but daily life and stressors take us out of our natural rhythms. During normal daily activity, our regular brain frequency is that of Beta.
Reiki (pronounced 'ray-key') is a Japanese technique that promotes a state of deep relaxation, reduces stress and brings balance to the mind and body. In this deep state of relaxation, the nervous system is able to move into the heal, rest, and digest aspect, allowing the body to begin it's own healing.
Yoga Nidra or Yogic Sleep is a guided meditation that brings you into a deep relaxation. During the practice, you will recline in a supported Savasana or restorative pose and be guided through various stages of deeper relaxation, allowing your awareness to turn inward focusing on the sensations of the body and breath.
Courtney Taylor, RYT-500, B.A. Psychology, Reiki Master, is the owner of Wild Soul Yoga in Meridian, Mississippi. She is a lover of nature, and outdoor enthusiast with a passion to bring yoga and wellness to our community. Yoga has been an important part of her life since 2001, and she took the leap to become a teacher in 2019.
