Michael West was born and raised in Pasadena. He began his professional career as a banker but decided to switch over to become a lawyer in the 90s. He always pushes for the victory of his clients and has practiced law for more than 20 years. Melanie has been a paralegal at West & West since 2011 and brings more than a decade of experience to the firm.
If you've ever been to our office, it's likely that I've come out to say hello. I'm Michael's wife and he jokes that I'm the firm's "hospitality extraordinaire." I was only supposed to fill in for two weeks after the loss of a former office manager but I ended up staying for 10 years. Sometimes I teasingly beg Michael to fire me but in reality, I love the work I do.
Melanie Martinez has been a paralegal at West & West since 2011 and brings more than 10 years of experience. Melanie has experience in all aspects of the litigation process including drafting pleadings, preparing motions and discovery requests/responses, gathering and analyzing evidence, instructing experts/investigators, attending hearings/motions/trials/mediations, as well as communicating with clients.

I have recently used West & West to file a Small Estate Affidavit. I am very pleased with the service and professionalism with Michael West and his wife Laura. I knew nothing about the process after we lost a loved one and she walked me through it and helped me understand the process. I do not ever recommend being in a lawsuit, but if you absolutely have to be, I would hire West & West. Michael did a great job for me. There were some bumps along the way, but that's all part of dealing with humans. Michael explained everything in detail, kept my best interest at heart and kept things realistic. I only wish things could have moved faster, but I now understand how slowly the court system moves.

Used them for a case and although the other party lied and there were also discrepancies in an important document all of which I could prove to be otherwise; after mediation and months of hell the final order signed by the judge was the worst mistake I could have made. Now I have to work harder and pay more to clear up the mess I was left with. Would never use them again or recommend them.
