At Amy Schwartz Interiors, I am committed to creating comfortable, inviting, and practical residential spaces for my clients. My design philosophy can be described as client-focused in style and budget with a passion for making the experience both fun and creative. I work as an interior designer in the DC Metro area, including Maryland, Northern Virginia and DC proper.
I recently redecorated my house using a professional decorator, Amy Schwartz. Working with Amy was a pleasure. She quickly honed in on my style preferences and presented me with a number of different options for the major furniture pieces. She found tables and lamps that I would have never found on my own.
Your family room is likely the place you and your family hang out, lounge, binge watch your favorite TV show, host movie night and generally gather. You may or may not allow eating in that space, but most of us crave a spot to put our feet up and get comfy.
Visiting a museum is a meaningful cultural experience but the "Do Not Touch" warning signs and the yellow ropes that block our proximity to the art, do not lend themselves to the function and coziness we seek in our living rooms.Your next Family Room project will combine practicality, and functionality with comfort when you focus on these family room trends.

If you've ever watched a popular television program that portrays Interior Designers executing a design project, you have marveled at the immaculate workspace they create to house their tools of the trade. Obsessively organized swatches by color, pattern, and fabric grade hanging open on labeled shelving (labeled with a label maker) adjacent to the wallcovering books by design company and style preference.

I worked with Amy to furnish our home when we moved in June 2019. She looked at the house and helped us figure out how to best use the rooms and space for our needs. She worked with my husband and I to pick out furniture that was affordable and fit the space. Amy was very conscious of our budget when decorating the space. She even took time to make suggestions about other areas in out house. She was a pleasure to work with, she has a great eye and a great personality. Made furnishing and decorating our new house a pleasure!

Amy Schwartz did a fabulous job redecorating our current and former home. She managed multiple renovation projects in our last home that refreshed and updated our 1950’s rambler to have a family-friendly but contemporary look. While we enjoyed it for a few more years, it also increased its value when it was time to sell and upgrade to a larger home. Amy also decorated our new home from top to bottom, giving us a customized fresh look. We recommend Amy to everyone who considers redecorating!
