A catalyst for change, DCDC has redefined dance. It has increased awareness of the African-American experience, ethos, and cultural heritage. DCDC is ranked in the top 20 African-American arts and cultural organizations in the country. However, being one of America's first (and longest) thriving dance companies and educators is not the only way DCDC leads.
Evolution comes in many forms. Sometimes we notice it after we look back at a long series of events. Other times, we see the little things that have come into and out of our lives and realize we've been making tiny adjustments along the way. And then, there are those times that something so incredible happens that nothing will ever be the same.
Imagined as a legacy gift for her child and crafted as an adaptation of Charles Tazewell's children's book, The Littlest Angel delights and inspires as we follow the angel on a path of discovery toward the real meaning of giving and have a few laughs along the way. Each year we look on as the littlest angel makes her way through heaven and is challenged with choosing the perfect gift for the blessed infant.
Scott has always enjoyed capturing moments with a camera. Dance photography is a big part of his life. Scott thinks it is one of the best art forms that combines well with photography. He also specializes in high school senior portraits. His studio is located in downtown Centerville, Ohio, and he will travel just about anywhere to do on-location shoots.
Dayton Contemporary Dance Company offers a myriad of opportunities for people of all ages, cultures, and communities to experience and engage in contemporary dance through movement workshops, as well as dance performances. These programs combine movement and curriculum into one form to assist in enriching the young minds of K-12 students.
