Nurture Through Nature
Since 1999, we have been supporting the experience of how to live more simply and sustainably while practicing the healing arts in a beautiful, natural setting. Maine's first Green~Certified earth~friendly retreat center, Nurture Through Nature, rests on 33 mountainside, forested acres in the heart of western Maine's Lakes and Mountains region.

We are a solar-powered, off the grid retreat with private hiking trails along our spring~fed mountain brook leading to long views of Mount Washington and the White Mountains. Nurture Through Nature was founded on the premise that retreating inward in a manner that supports your connection to the natural world and your own true nature is invaluable.

I've had more experiences here than I can count, and every one of them has been instrumental in my personal growth. I took a huge leap out of my comfort zone in 2007 when I booked a solo retreat in the Robin's Nest cabin. I wasn't particularly eco-conscious at the time, and the owner was so gracious and understanding of my lack of knowledge. Getting exposed to her ways of living close to the earth was an eye opener for me and it CHANGED me.
NTN has become a fixture in my life since that time - I've experienced group retreats, solo stays, camping, workshops, song circles, yoga, qi gong, and many

My girlfriend and I spent the weekend at Robin’s Nest, which was perfect. Tucked up on the mountain without anyone around us. Also used the sauna.

I have stayed at Nurture Through Nature several times over the years. The cabins are cozy and accommodating. I have also participated in a retreat, drum making class, and Qigong. I have also rented the private wood fire sauna and took a dip in the stream this January. NTN is my go to place when I need to check out of the world and check into myself.

I’ve gone to NTN for several different events. The sauna is truly amazing. I also have done a day of mindfulness and could not recommend going more.

NTN is one of the most magical places I've ever been. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday noise, the land offers a quiet experience to divulge into the inner workings of yourself and nature. The sauna is so cleansing and the crystal clear brook to jump in throughout the sauna experience is nothing short of magic. I feel like my Life Source battery gets recharged everytime I go to NTN, I leave feeling so much more connected to myself. My deepest gratitude for Jen Deraspe for providing a safe place and offering practices that help remind me what really matters.

I had the opportunity to teach a workshop and stay overnight, the perfect working vacation! My room was comfy and clean, I loved the rustic nature of the place. Everything is permeated with care for the Earth, community and well-being. In the morning I walked the meditation trail along the stream…all beautiful! On other occasions I’ve enjoyed the sauna!

This retreat was truly spectacular. My two best friends and I stayed in Robins Nest which was a gorgeous solar powered cabin on the facility. We were surrounded by woods, shooting stars, and wild life. Jen was incredible and super helpful. The hike we chose to do was challenging and rewarding. The emerald pool was gorgeous. Rico, one of the dogs, greeted us and even did the hike with us. He was an added bonus to the trip. Definitely want to make this a yearly tradition!

We stayed for three days in the winter and it was more relaxing, rewarding and rejuvenating then any two week vacation I have ever had. We grew closer to nature, to each other and ourselves. Do yourself a favor and book this trip-use the sauna, go to yoga, explore the woods. We will be back in 2017 ++++
Every morning since our trip I wake up and recite the same mantra we found in our yurt: "Waking up this morning, I smile. Twenty-four brand new hours are before me. I vow to live fully in each moment and to look at all beings with eyes of compassion." -Thich Nhat Hanh

I absolutely loved Nurture Through Nature! There are so many things that make this a wonderful place to visit. It's a eco-friendly resort that offers yoga, massage, a fire wood sauna, hiking trails, and the basic necessities. We enjoyed our two night stay in the Sunset Yurt, where we had ample wood supply to keep the yurt warm, fresh mountain water for drinking/ cooking, complimentary coffee and tea, lots of great books to read! I highly recommend visiting the wood-fired sauna, what an amazing experience! The most wonderful part of it all, is that you get to design your own retreat! You can

This place was amazing in so many ways. My husband I were looking for a special way to celebrate our first anniversary, and we found it. We stayed in the Robin's Nest cabin, which was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The wood stove was fabulous and kept us warm in the chilly but mild fall evenings, and I'm sure it would put out plenty of heat for a winter stay as well.

We were the only guests on the property, so it was QUIET and so, so serene. I'm sure if other guests were there it would still be both of those things. The cabins and yurts are spread out and hidden in the

Stayed here for a weekend in May. If you are looking for a secluded place to relax, this is it. I prefer to call it "glamping" as everything you need for a comfortable yet rustic retreat is there.

I enjoyed sitting in the comfy chair as the sun popped into the yurt in the morning. It would crest over the trees and suddenly shine into the domed window above. The yurt itself was new, clean and comfortable. The wood stove kept the inside a great temp while the screened windows could be open during the day for breeze. The cots were supportive and clean. Last July, my sister and I stayed here for a week and I loved it. We rented one of the eco-cabins in the woods and quickly settled into our cozy home with wood burning stove and composting toilet! We tried both cabins and preferred the one by the main lodge because it got more light which is important when you're running on solar power. It was the perfect place to explore and connect with nature, work on our writing and music and feel safe. We got our groceries at the local farmers market (Fryeburg) and cooked delicious, organic, meals on a propane stove. Jen, the owner, brought us fresh
