Holly McHone is a jewelry designer who spends much of her time fulfilling the dreams of her jewelry loving customers with original designs. Had a necklace designed made from and resembling my mother's wedding ring, it turned out just as hoped and I wear it daily! Holly and staff were wonderful, friendly and professional. I had a gold ring with small emeralds that I bought in Colombia for my wife, one of the emeralds fell out after 32 years of use and disappeared. Holly was able.

Holly McHone Jewelers has been in Historic Downtown Astoria, Oregon since 2004. After 8 years of showing work in galleries and retail shows, the opportunity arose to buy the store where we had shown our work for 6 years. Holly first started making jewelry in 1978 in High School in Omaha, NE. After graduating, she was off to the Minneapolis College of Art & Design where she earned her BFA in Life Drawing.

Buying a diamond is a very personal experience. Diamonds can be bought to signify love, significant accomplishments, milestones in your life or that of a gift's recipient. Unlike when you buy clothing, electronics, or cars, the features of a diamond may not seem quite so obvious to you. We would like to change that.
We gain a mutual understanding of the design goals, how it should look, and how the piece should make you feel when it is complete. Sometimes we start with a hand drawing and sometimes a CAD (Computer Aided Design) rendering depending on the visual complexity. The design is replicated in our CAD system to create a 3D model precise down to the finest detail.
Holly McHone Jewelers specializes in corporate and appreciation gifts, sales awards, participant awards and employee recognition solutions. Among the corporate incentive items we offer are rings, pendants, watches, knives, plaques and trophies. Many of the items can be customized with the corporate logo and your employee's name.

Holly was the absolute best! I called to get a ring sized and she said it would be 1 day to two. When I got there I asked about insurance and appraisal and she talked me through the process and made everything really clear for me. She said it would take an additional day for the appraisal but she called the very next day and had everything done! I was stoked. It was less than a 24 hour turnaround for an appraisal and having a ring resized. I couldn’t be happier.

Holly made a custom rose gold setting for an opal ring I had inherited from my grandmother. The original setting was yellow gold which I am not a fan of. Holly was very quick to respond (through FB messenger) to any questions or concerns I had about the ring setting experience as I don’t live in the local area. My ring turned out better than I could imagine and she will be doing my next custom piece without a doubt.

After fifty years of marriage, both my wedding ring and mother's ring had become damaged. I didn't know if anything could be done and in a last ditch effort, I stopped into see Holly. Oh, My Goodness! Holly is a design wizard, has the patience of a saint, and restored, repaired, and made both rings beautiful. I couldn't be more pleased. While on a cruise ship port stop in Astoria, Oregon, we stumbled upon this delightful shop and the staff made us feel so welcome, and so comfortable in their lovely little town. I really enjoyed the fact they treated us so kindly, and I enjoyed supporting a terrific local business on the Oregon coast. Hopefully we will visit Astoria when the cruise ships resume Pacific coastal cruises. Highly recommend this genuine local business.

Holly and her Team are Amazing! She exudes a peaceful confidence of her craft and listened intently as I describe what I was envisioning. She then created a wax model so I could see what it would look like. I was stunned at that point already by how Beautiful it was going to look! The finished product took my breath away and all I could do was cry! She and my husband even plotted together to have it ready ahead of time to surprise me for my birthday! You want the best? We took a ring in that had been battered and worn from years of construction work by my brother in-law who went home to the Lord unexpectedly just a few months before his only child's wedding. We asked it to be restored to it's original condition to be presented to my niece at her wedding in August. Words can't begin to express how beautiful the work is! Even as I write this I tear up and can't wait for it to be presented to his daughter.

They've sized two rings for me and did excellent work at a reasonable price. Not only were the rings sized, they were polished to like-new brilliance and the diamonds were tightened as well. Today I stopped in to ask if they would remove a band from an expensive watch I'm selling so I could take a picture of the serial number. They removed the band, even took the picture for me, and replaced the band. No charge! Great customer service and super friendly folks. It's a pleasure dealing with a business like that!

My husband and I purchased our wedding bands from Holly and they are such a pleasure to interact with! They were so helpful with our engraving and were happy to resize my engagement ring not once, but twice! They are always happy to clean my ring and earrings (also from Holly) when I pop in, which is more often than probably necessary as I work right down the street. Gotta have that newlywed sparkle! I got a piece of jewelry custom made here and it came out exactly how I pictured! The owner is so nice, offering to clean my engagement ring (that was purchased somewhere else) and inspect/tighten the diamond....saying I can stop by whenever to have it done! I've stopped by here four times and there always seems to be new pieces to admire. Looks like I know where I'll be doing all my jewelry shopping in Astoria!
