We determine if your commercial real estate is fairly assessed or over-assessed. Over-assessment can occur for a variety of reasons, and we determine if the approach the county appraiser has taken is the best approach to use in determining fair market value for the property in question. We also look for errors in your assessment.
From simple measurement errors to the incorrect tax cap being applied during assessment, we uncover the errors that cost your business money. Additionally, we evaluate the real estate to see if it qualifies for a property tax exemption. DeWald Property Tax Services assists companies with lowering their costs by helping businesses discover whether they are paying taxes on inflated real estate assessments.

We have over 50 years in combined experience with commercial property tax assessment appeals. We know the complicated and changing Indiana property tax system. We are. Our practice is limited to commercial real estate so that our focus drives our expertise in commercial property tax assessments. We personally examine every property with an engineer's eye for detail.
A Client owned 18 small to mid-sized apartment communities--including several low-income projects. After trying to appeal the taxes themselves, they hired DeWald to work on their behalf.
