The long stretches of beach, sand dunes, marshes, and woodlands are set aside as Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The first national seashore in the country includes natural and historic attractions, such as the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, lifesaving stations and the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge.
Hatteras is the southernmost village on beautiful Hatteras Island and is probably best-known for its world-famous offshore fishing fleet. At several Hatteras marinas, including Hatteras Landing, Teach's Lair Marina, Hatteras Harbor Marina, and Oden's Dock, headboats and charter boats are available to take visitors fishing in the sound, inlet, or even the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf Stream.
Buxton Woods, one of the largest maritime forests left standing in North Carolina, actually stretches across a large portion of Frisco's coast. Offering various trails through its lush terrain, this charming village once known as "Trent" is perfect for both hiking and a guided horseback ride to the beach.

We have stayed with Midgett for many years. A few years ago the house that we stayed at had a roof leak. We called and they were on top of getting it fixed the same day. We are here for 2 weeks this year and noticed something leaking on the underneath side of the house. Ended up being a pipe from one of the sinks on lower level. They had someone out within just a few minutes of us calling. 100% perfect customer service.

We were guests in Flight of Fansea this month. Our leaseholder were my parents. We, ourselves, usually rent up in Corolla every year and we spent one week there before joining my parents in Frisco.
I have to say, never renting a property through Midgett before, I was pleasantly surprised. The house was VERY clean and so well stocked with anything we could possibly need. The pool was definitely a HUGE plus of this house as well. We spent hot mornings at the beach and came back and spent a lot of time at the pool.
We loved our stay at Flight of Fansea and I know my parents have already booked again

I would not recommend this company. We had an accident with a pool ball hitting and breaking a glass door (the pool table was located close to the door) and one of the older kids in our party hit the ball and somehow it caught it just right and it sailed into the door and broke the glass. I would like to say that the after hours maintenance team were wonderful with responding and coming to fix it. However, the next morning a gentleman from the realty came to review the issue and stated that he would split it with me as far as the cost for the new glass. I asked about the insurance and he stated

Some of the best service we have ever received from a real estate rental agency. It sounds like Midgett is the largest game in town and has been around for many generations. They have some really nice properties and are extremely helpful in finding the right rental for our needs. Contract process and check in was pretty straightforward.
What we found out during our stay is that they have their own property maintenance people to address any issues for the guests so you dont have to deal with any owners directly. This certainly helps keep the quality up. Within hours they had a friendly maintenance

We had issues on how our house had not been cleaned. I called to complain about how the house wasn't clean. I talked to the supervisor of house keeping and she came out and cleaned the house again. I have been using Midgett Realty for a very long time and I will keep use them after this experience. Thank you Nicole!!

Midgett hired a pool maintenance person to clean the pool. The guy ran the hose over one of the residents brand new cars, scratching it to the point where it required professional repair. Midgett refused to provide insurance information, pool maintenance refused to provide insurance information. Pool maintenance (contracted through midgett) proceeded to swear at me on the phone stating "We're not paying for s***." Spent an entire day of vacation on the phone with Midgett and the pool maintenance company playing phone tag, blaming each other for the issue. Police were called to resolve the issue

We have used this company for a few years now. They are always fast, professional and responsive. Specifically, Kelly gave us amazing recommendations to help our family find the perfect rental this year! If there has been anything in the home that needed attention, Midgett has been fast to respond including same day cleaning or maintenance, unlike other companies. Their homes are also very affordable and they don't force you to pay several unnecessary fees. The staff really understands how important every stay is.

I will update this review if things change. We arrived Saturday afternoon. To my pleasent surprise, the house was ready early. On Sunday, I called to report a couple of issues. The freezer has a bad seal and nothing is staying frozen, the toilet in the master BR needs a valve and runs constantly, and the kitchen sink drips constantly. "We'll get go it", was the reply I received from the very pleasant customer service rep.
Now it is Monday afternoon. And, I have not heard back. At, nearly, $4000 per week, this is not the kind of response I had hoped for.

Do NOT rent from midgett realty! they don’t clean the house, when we got there the house was still dirty. the toilet wouldn’t flush, mold on the walls, leak in the bedroom ceiling, broken pool filter. the house was a complete dump. midgett is no help whatsoever, just tell you the equivalent to too bad. employees are not friendly and disrespectful. will not be renting from midgett again.

Be very careful if you go through Midgett Realty. When we arrived after a 12 hour drive we had to wait because our property, Fair Winds, was not ready. We were told that the floor of the main bathroom was being replaced but when we arrived the whole place smelled like a dirty bathroom and the floor was just plywood and nails with some dirty rugs on top. When we complained we were told it was "usable" and would not be fixed for us and no refund. The property manager could have cared less and this was the most frustrating part. She did not call back on Monday as promised, or Tuesday
