Remember... this is a 2 star "hotel"... so, as a 2 star lodging facility... I give it 3 stars.
You are paying 3 and 4 star pricing for a 2 star facility. The rooms are small... like tiny small. The beds adequate. The shower works. But the walls are thin and you can hear everything around you. In many of the rooms, you can not adjust the temperature. In one of the buildings... I don't think many building codes were followed.
If you want seclusion... or even to be ae to sleep... go to the Meandering Moose Lodge... much friendlier staff... and better pricing.

Property was recently fully renovated, everything is nice but room and beds are small. Would definitely stay again though. People were really nice and helpful and picked us up from the bus drop-off a mile from downtown.
The downtown area is walkable and filled with modest restaurants and shops. The river is just a block behind the Inn and there's a neat railroad bridge not far upstream.
There's also a lot of aviation tours out of Talkeetna, we took a floatplane ride which was one of the highlights of our trip.

I was impressed!
Was able to book my room the day before, the manager texted and called me to make sure I knew about COVID safety and how to get in. The building was new and cozy. Only one other couple was there at the time. Full kitchen stocked with snacks and coffee. Comfy couches to relax on after a day of cross country skiing.
This place was AWESOME and I bet is a fun time in the summer when it's full of travelers. Very hostil vibes. If you're looking for comfort and amenities, this Inn is your place. Close to town as well.

We came from Anchorage to Talkeetna for the weekend and stayed in a family room, with two kiddos (2,4 yr old). It was FABULOUS!
We loved the grounds, nice green lawn with chairs and tables and a fun walk to the river! It's a short walking distance also to the shops/restaurants on the main road. The hospitality was very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable and we were glad there was a small fridge. :)
We opted to eat breakfast which did not disappoint- tasty and generous portions. It was better than the long waits/crowded restaurants that are typical in the summer. This

The talkeetna inn, has new ownership and changes are happening in a GREAT way!
We stayed here for two nights, conveniently located by the river and main part of talkeetnea strip.
We arrived late checkin around 1145 PM and they made sure, someone was there to check us in and that we were accommodated and welcomed.
The room was alaskan rustic cabin feel, very comfortable and clean.
The place has everything you need, a cocktail lounge on the premises, a bonfire pit, picnic areas, outdoor seating, breaksfast in the morning, wonderful hospitality.
The owner greeted us and welcomed us! We will

We stayed at The Talkeetna Motel in July 2017. We wanted to stay within walking distance from the main street, and it was the only hotel in the heart of Talkeetna that had rooms available. The reason they had rooms available was because they're not really on any google search. I found them from google maps. Anyway, they have no website. I don't have a problem with businesses that don't use modern technology. Actually, this can be somewhat refreshing. What I did have a MAJOR problem with was that the owner refused to give me a written confirmation after I had booked the room

If you are on a tighter budget and want a place to rest you bones, and then get up and go again in the morning, this could fill the bill. We had a larger party made up of younger adults who did not really have a real job yet, so we all appreciated the lower fare at this motel.
The rooms were surprisingly not small. The TV was an old tube style but added to the ambiance. We were not going to watch it anyway. The rooms were very clean as were the bathrooms. They were in the process of updating all of the bathrooms and were progressing very well. They did a very good job and I think that they had

This is true Alaska. There aren't a lot of options when staying in Talkeetna. All the highest rated places were booked. I came across the Talkeetna Motel and booked a room. It's not too pretty from the outside but I felt adventurous and didn't need glitz and glam in Alaska this vacation. The lady inside the bar was super friendly, warm and welcoming. We got our room and it had purple carpet- my favorite color. The room felt like being in Grandma's house. It was spotless and cleaned professionally. The bed was comfy however with Talkeetna's nice restaurants and the sun out
