Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a widely used, evidence-based form of therapy that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, behaviors, and emotions, and helps to identify unhelpful patterns of thoughts/cognitions and behaviors, in order to develop more effective coping strategies. Instead, CBT is a "problem-focused" and "action-oriented" form of therapy, meaning it is used to treat specific problems related to a diagnosed condition.
All new patients begin treatment with an appointment for an initial consultation. This appointment is 60 mins long - the goal is to obtain enough information regarding your presenting problem to properly provide a diagnosis and allow me to discuss treatment recommendations based on your unique clinical presentation.
