Oral sedation for dental work utilizes sedatives to facilitate a reduction in patient fear and anxiety related to dental appointments and procedures. If dental appointments tend to give you anxiety, oral conscious sedation dentistry can go a long way towards making your visit go smoothly. This kind of sedation dentistry is also helpful for patients with belonephobia (fear of needles/sharp instruments) or trauma from prior dental experiences.
Tooth decay is caused by destructive bacteria forming on the chewing surfaces of your teeth. Preventing decay completely requires more than regular brushing and flossing alone can provide. Digital radiography (digital xray) is the latest technology used to take dental xrays. This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of xray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. Digital xrays reduce radiation by 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental xrays.

Last December I was visiting in the Visalia area and I cracked a tooth. A friend recommended Dr Swanson and he and his staff were able to accommodate me at the end of the day. They were highly professional and the procedure was done painlessly and efficiently. Knowing I was not a resident of the area, Dr. Swanson also created the crown and finished the job that evening.
