Our goal is to always improve the percentage of waste diverted. We seek to eliminate waste by developing and discovering sustainable resource recovery practices that can be implemented globally.
We are pleased to announce the release of our 2019 Sustainability Report! Recology is closing the loop on organic materials that otherwise would have ended up in a landfill. By collecting and processing yard trimmings and food scraps, Recology produces compost, soil blends, and a variety of mulches made with recycled, clean wood.

I requested a credit on my account for trash that was not picked up due to weather conditions. They happily were pleased to do the right thing and not charge me for the labor of the 2 weeks that we did not receive service

A shocking poor emergency responsiveness. Sure the company cancels services when one occurs, bit it is terribly slow with service updates and keeping customers informed about restorations of schedule and collections. First its policies should be written in more positive terms. Not crazy happy talk. Just better, clearer action directives, more frequent updates that reflect awareness and timely status. We want a better way of knowing more, more specifically to ensure we're all coordinating to have our collections taken care of. Please keep trying to improve, people!

The company made zero effort to notify us that we were delinquent, we could have paid at any time, but since we had been on auto pay we were in set it and forget it mode. Instead of providing a credit to customers who were negatively impacted by the ransomware attack they just let their bills pile up deciding to cancel service the week before Christmas.
I hope that the city looks into cancelling contacts with this prime example of crony capitalism. Monopolies hurt the citizens, and garbage needs to be a city service.

I have no other place to highlight this but here. The service in the last 2 years have gotten progressively worse. Recently the trash pickup service has gone from subpar to unacceptable. This happened today and it is the 5th time. The trash is picked is not fully picked up... 1/2 of the recycling it is still in the bin and one of the cardboard boxes was just laying on the street. So disappointing. The same has happened with the compost bin where for whatever reason, the content are stuck in the bin and the individual pinking up the trash just does not have the professionalism to figure out what

Unbelievably poor customer service. They use an answering service that cannot help you and claim they will "call you back," yet they never do. Took nearly 5 business days for them to setup my account, after calling 5 times and submitting 2 web requests, and they still delivered my bins late and provided me with the incorrect day of the week for my garbage/recycle pickup.

It between 1-2 stars. I tired to get to hired on as a lube tech. I thought the interview went extremely well. Nice people but when they say that they will give me call to say if I got the job or no. They never did. Left me hanging in the dust. Don't keep a promise if you can't keep it.

Over the course of the past year and a half with this service we have had our dumpster lock taken and not returned on trash pickup and they said they couldn’t replace it because they didn’t have a note from the driver. The roads are littered trash every trash pickup day. The online service stopped working for payments for at least two months, but if you called to pay it always just took you to an answering service, and now finally our trash wasn’t picked up last week. I am guessing it was because the bill needed paid but I will never know because every time I call I get the answering service

Just moved to Issaquah and this was the only option for trash/recycle/yard waste. Could not get new service started after many calls and emails. When calling, the agent on the phone would at least try to help but they seem powerless to actually get anything done. ie I was told they will drop off the bins three times and never happened. Emails are straight up ignored. My next door neighbor said it took over two weeks to get the service started. I guess they have monopoly in the area so there’s nothing we can do and no accountability whatsoever

I want to give zero stars. Absolutely the worst service I have received so far. My trash cans have not been delivered for 5 weeks, and I am still paying for this service despite actually not receiving any service at all! I must have called atleast 10 times so far and every single person on the call says that someone will get back to you in 2 business days, and no one does. This is absolutely outrageous, there is no one we can escalate to, because only the people in the answering service respond to the calls, and they have no idea what’s going on. I recently purchased a home in Des Moines and tried to contact Recology to transfer the account to my name... In the last 3 weeks, I called at least 5 times during business hours and every time it went straight to an answering service. I left numerous messages as well as writing them several emails, but still nobody has contacted me for such an easy request!! What kind of customer service is it??
