We seek to address the needs of parents in obtaining affordable, high quality, and safe child care. The W. 4th Street Center is licensed for 92 children. Our center provides year-round programming for infants at least 6 weeks old and preschool-aged children. Tuition aid is available through a sliding fee schedule subsidized by scholarship programs or through public funding sources.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. There is nothing more important to us than the safety and security of the families we serve.

Services
Grin and Grow is a private, non-profit child care agency founded in 1943 by the Junior League of Waterloo-Cedar Falls. Originally founded as a nursery for the children of women working in local factories during World War II, Grin and Grow has continued to provide child care services to parents of Waterloo since the end of the War.
We are happy to offer year-round preschool services. Our preschool program serves children age three to five in a center-based program that gets them ready to start kindergarten. All programs support learning, health, nutrition, and parent participation. Your child will build math and reading skills, as well as social skills through engaging with other children.
Grin & Grow is implementing the Creative Curriculum for teaching and assessment. The most important goal of our early childhood curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners. This means encouraging children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts.
Nothing takes a higher priority that the safety of our children. We are inspected twice per year by a visiting child care nurse and the fire department. These inspections are part of our Quality Rating System (QRS). Our West 4th Street Center provides child care and preschool services for infants and preschool-aged children up to 5 years of age.
If you were ever looking for a way to make a difference in your community, consider volunteering at Grin and Grow. Join us and spend a few minutes reading to the children. All of our volunteers are given thorough background checks before they can begin. This process usually only takes a few days. Please contact us if you would like to learn more.
