Services
Because each person has different issues and goals for counseling, it will be different depending on the individual. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs. Unfortunately, this is not possible to say in a general FAQs page.

Everyone's circumstances are unique to them and the length of time counseling can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek counseling in the first place.
All patients should familiarize themselves with the terms of their insurance coverage. However, If you have additional questions about billing and insurance, please call (910) 224-2307. Additionally, I will accept insurance as an out-of-network provider and I am able to contract with insurance companies on a case-by-care basis.

Very unhelpful employees that gave a creepy feeling when we were attending a session!
I strongly encourage people to stay away from this business!
They only want to take you money and get you in and out as quick as possible!
Not suitable for children or parents!

I went for the first time and was worried about the reviews.
This was the absolute worst experience I have subjected my child to when attending a counseling session.
It seemed they only cared about money and wanted us to get out as quick as possible.
I recommend other options and will not be going back!
Bad Business!!!

The negative reviews for ATLAS Child counseling are FAKE. Do not trust them. This is a trustworthy, caring, professional counselor that will work hard to provide effective, appropriate care.

Very unfriendly staff and they are very secretive about counseling with children. Very little feedback for children amd adults and it seems they do not care about the development of children
I would not recommend this place at all unless you want to waist your time and money.

Mr. Lawson is an awesome counselor. He truly has a heart for children. We have been blessed to have him for our child. He respects our child's need for privacy so she can trust and bond with him. He has always kept an open door of communication with us.

I have only praises for this office!
John is a fantastic therapist. He has given my husband and I so many helpful tools to care for and raise up our almost 4 year old son who was struggling with his emotions before we came in. John has even answered my phone calls on nights and weekends during a time when we didn't know how to calm our son down. My son is doing much better now and we have seen huge improvements in the few months we have been taking him here. John has also recommended tons of great books, both kids and adult books.
The office is clean and well managed, i often see things being

Mr. John worked directly and patiently with me to teach me skills using play therapy to better connect with my impulsive and insecure son. The change was dramatic in my son and in my relationship with him. John is highly dedicated and highly professional - I would recommend Atlas to anyone looking to strengthen their relationship with their child.

I’ve seen a John’s love, care and patience with children in action. Not only does he have a heart for kids he has the knowledge parents need to be the best at our main job, raising our babies. In a society that is running and running and never slowing down, its essential to have someone to remind us the importance of understanding our children right where they are and how that can help us in raising them. I’d recommend ATLAS Child Counseling again and again. Thank you for serving families❤️.

Mr John has been a part of my son's life longer than some of his actual family members. We began seeing Mr John when my son was 5 years old. He was a very complex, withdrawn, angry child with a very poor self image. Mr John taught, listened, and poured himself into helping me help my son. Overcoming traumatic memories/experiences, navigating the school system, showing up to iep meetings, repsonding to emergencies day or night. My son is outgoing, proud, and happy. There are no words to describe the impact Mr John had on my son's life, he will always have a special place in our family!
