Occasional anxiety and worry are an expected part of life. People with an anxiety disorder experience intense, excessive, or persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Anxiety disorders can interfere with daily activities, be difficult to control and can get worse over time. Fluctuations in mood are a part of everyday life.
Everyone goes through periods of being unusually happy, sad or blue. People with depression have a persistent feeling of sadness, hopelessness and loss of interest. Episodes of depression can interfere with daily activities, cause social isolation, and leave one feeling hopeless. Healthy relationships with spouses, family, friends and at work are just as important as good nutrition and physical activity to our health and well-being.

As your therapist, I will listen to you with respect, in a safe and confidential relationship. During our first meeting, the initial consultation, it's important to feel that you can speak freely and that your feelings will be heard and validated. By the end of the consultation, I will share with you my observations and some ideas about the central issue or conflict.
