Tried to buy a house through these people - worst experience ever!
#1 - they don't even show up to the property, just give bad directions
#2 - they always lie and say they have "another all-cash offer"
#3 - they absolutely discriminate against people from the main land
#4 - they run a terrible rental business that has outrageous terms

Dawn Koopman, not responsive. Apparently it was something wrong with their emails prior, but now even with direct text, and phone calls, no response. After all that, I'd be very cautious moving forward with any rental listed. Something seems off putting, and starting any rental process with someone uncommunicative sounds like a complete disaster waiting to happen.

My experience first hand review primarily on rental properties through Dawn Koopman.
#1 She never returns a call. EVER if you are a property owner listing with her to rent your property is going to sit vacant for a long long time because she cannot be bothered to deal with renters and call them back. I have called, my husband has called, my friends have called. ZERO response
#2 Since no one returns your calls you walk in to talk to someone and apparently everything your seeing on CL, Trulia, & Zillow is "already rented".
I do not know if they just hate locals or don't give

I can't find the words to describe the phenomenal work you (Dawn Koopman and Roberto Lopes) put into making our home purchase on the North Shore happen. You will always get the best recommendation from us. Over the years we've dealt with many agents (both as buyer and seller) and you have proven to be the most dedicated and responsive. We rented a house on the north shore of Oahu from this company. The view was spectacular and the area was close to many other places to experience. The only trouble during our two week stay was out of control of the owners. There was a few burglaries that took place in homes close to ours. However, the tenants did not use the safe or the alarm at night. We did not have any issues, as we followed instructions. Regardless, the owners immediately upgraded the alarm system, put in a fenced gate, and hired security to patrol overnight. We couldn't have asked for a better reaction to an issue

I rented a beachfront property from Team Real Estate for 6 years. As you could imagine things rust and decay much faster on the oceanfront and there would be some minor things to fix all the time and we agreed in the beginning not to sweat little maintenance stuff. Roberto, my agent took photos documenting all the imperfections and it came very handy at the end of the lease . All our interractions with Roberto were cordial and professional. I had a great experience renting a vacation rental with Team Real Estate and Roberto. He and his team were super helpful and honest people to do business with. We stayed in a condo at Kuilima Estates for our wedding at Turtle Bay Resort and we could not be more pleased with the condition of the property or the location. Even better was the price. Based these reviews I was concerned about them returning my security deposit, but was delighted when they refunded me promptly in full as promised without any hassle at all. Simple, they steal.
These are the laziest and most dishonest real estate agents I have ever worked with. We has one of Roberto's henchmen come through before our move out and say that overall the house looked good, but just needed a few touches. $1800 they returned our deposit.
Don't rent from them and don't let them manage your property. It took me 3 weeks of calling to rent the place because they were too lazy to return calls or make an appointment.
Then again they don't really care

I don't understand how some people can write a review based on looking around the building and without experiencing this company first hand. Personally, I have had the pleasure to stay at one of Team Real Estate's vacation rentals in the North Shore during April of this year. It was, least to say, INCREDIBLE. Imagine a beach front Hawaiian style home with gorgeous views of the sunset over the water every night, and beach combing/tide pooling/swimming during the day. The house itself was beautiful, immaculate and could tell that it was well taken care of.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TEAM REAL ESTATE!!!
I was sent by the corporate office to check out potential office space for lease in Makaha and so I took the long drive out to the Makaha Marketplace formerly known as "The Old Cornets"
The drive out is absolutely gorgeous with miles and miles of beaches, once I arrived I immediately noticed the place really looked run down and filthy since the last time I was in Makaha which was roughly four years ago.
I parked in front of the "Team Real Estate" office and took a minute to read over their listings which had been placed in the office

I have lived on the north shore for eight years and had team real estate for two of the four places i have rented, one in waialua where i lived almost two years and another in haleiwa for four years. In both cases Roberto was my agent.
Not only was he a consummate professional but in both cases i had no trouble getting my deposit back (i cleaned it well and filled in the nail holes in the wall, and removed a carpet stain i had made, etc.).
I would positively rent from them again and would contact Roberto straightaway if I should have to move from my present location.

I was very surprised to see so many negative reviews of Team Real Estate. Having only had good experiences with them I felt I should Yelp! Team Real Estate is one of the oldest property management and sales offices on the North Shore. I am born and raised in Sunset Beach and have rented a property with Team for over 8 years. Whenever we have had any issues ( all of which were minor fixes) at our rental they have handled the problem immediately. I usually like to take the "counter" approach and point out the positives when overall reviews are extremely negative; however, in this case - all of the other reviewers echo our experience. Hopefully these guys will go out of business soon.
DO NOT trust your property with them and certainly don't put yourself in the precarious position as a renter. They will take you for everything they can.

The worst reality company ever!!!!!! Roberto is a huge pain and he is LAZY! He is terrible at his job and refuses to do any leg work for his clients. He is a slum lord! I will never rent a property through him and he has put a bad taste in my mouth in regards to working with his company as a whole. He refuses to do his job and take care of his clients.

We thought about renting an ocean front home from this outfit until they insisted we pay in full three weeks before we even arrive! My eager wife was ready to pay but I insisted she check it out further because the full-pay upfront seemed sketchy. Then we saw the review someone else posted and I wasn't surprised to see the negative remarks regarding deposit being kept etc etc. No way!
